I must say you are quite the inspiration. I have tried quite a few things and have never had success. I watched many of your videos and have decided to start the HCG program. I was hoping you could start me in the right direction on what to do first and then I can follow your blogs and ideas on your page to follow. I just need to start. My husband is over seas right now and will be coming home soon and I have gained 40 pounds since he left. I was injured at work and I haven’t been able to stay active and need a new plan and lifestyle. I hope you get back to me soon. Thanks!

    • colleen says:

      Hi Carla,
      I’m excited for you!
The very first thing to do is read or listen to (audiobook) the pounds and inches protocol so you can understand what you will be doing and why it is going to work better than anything else did before. I have the P&I on this blog. The audiobook is provided by Pharmacy Escrow. The other is simply a PDF I uploaded. Both are free 😉

  • Rachel says:

Hello, I love the idea of the fat fast but I am hearing people cautioning against doing it toward the end of p2. I am doing the 40 day and am at day 31. I was thinking of starting the ff on mmonday so that would leave me with six days left on p2. Do you think thats enough days? Also do you think I should do the full three days? My goal is 135 and I am at 143, I was at 140 two days ago but gave into temptation and had three bites of cake. Next morning I was up 3 pounds and was the same this morning. Just trying to get close to my goal before ending. Any suggestions would be great…thank you

    • colleen says:

      Hi Rachel,
I think 6 days is good plus even when you are on P3 you should be still eating clean as you ease into food varieties. Also you probably already know which food you do well with and which one you gain easily on so you want to be mindful of your choices. I say this because for example though it is health I know that when I eat stuffed salmon I will have a bit of a gain. So that should have been the LAST thing I should choose just coming off of a fat fast. well I was craving it, so I eat it the 1st night off the FF. My 7.8 release in 3 days ended up 5.8 instead. Though I have a feeling as long so i eat clean today that spike will go down. Every time i have that darn fish it happens that way – go figure. =P

  • Tracie says:

    Hi Colleen,
Thank you so much for you blogs – these have been so interesting to read. I would like to try to macadamia nut fat fast and was wondering if the nuts can be salted or if they need to be plain? I figured the salt would cause too much water retention – but wasn’t even sure if I should maybe drink extra water those days?

    Thanks again for sharing!

    ~Tracie

    • colleen says:

      Hi Tracie,
I find that as long as you drink plenty of water retention isn’t an issue. I always use the roasted mac nuts with sea salt.
      Colleen =)

      • Tracie says:

OMG Colleen – thank you for posting this! It worked! I don’t know why I doubted it would – but it did – that’s amazing!

  • audra says:

Hi i was wondering do you thing the sublingal drops will be as effective as the shot you do?

    • colleen says:

Hi Audra – It is my opinion that the injections are best. That is the only method I chose to do and was the original protocol that the Doctor who did the research used. I have had other HCG friends that like the RX drops or the sub-lingual that is made by mixing the RX HCG with what you use when doing sub. It is the over the counter at any gas station or retail store hcg “product” that concerns me. I’m afraid there are way to many companies that want to make a quick buck 🙁

  • hcground1 says:

Can I have chocolate delight while doing the MAC nut fast? Thanks.

    • colleen says:

      GOOD question!
I have never tried it but since others have done fat fasts up to 1200 cal. you should be able to add more fat (like choco delight) . The nut fast is only up to 1000 calories per day. Since I have not tried it let me know how you do! 😉

      • hcground1 says:

Thank you for your quick response! I am very inspired by your results… Thanks for sharing your experience with us!

  • Lorraine says:

Would this be helpful to do when starting P4? Do you eat the nuts and drink lots of water all day? Thanks!

    • colleen says:

      Hi,

Congrats on being in the maintenance phase!
It is fine on P4 – But if you don’t need to lose anymore fat you don’t need to do it.

      • Lorraine says:

My weight is good and I haven’t moved up or down since starting P3 but I definitely need firming. My skin is saggy all over. What would you suggest to firm up. I have starting exercising. Thanks for all your help Colleen. I’ve used many of your suggestions and they’ve all been very helpful!

        • colleen says:

          Hi Lorraine,
I know the skin thing – OY! if it is for your arms light weights do help. One thing I have started to do is my “skin recipe” not only on my face but also my backend inner thighs ( you know where I’m going with this) anywhere I want my skin to tighten more. I’m still in the experimenting stage and realize I also need to be better about patience. Our skin is constantly renewing itself, so positive progress is key!
I am seeing improvement but can’t say perfection yet 😉 My husband is very happy and I look nice in jeans so ultimately life is good 🙂

  • JoAnne Wade says:

    Hey Colleen!

I have been following your vlogs on youtube and find them very helpful!
My computer is not showing your instructions for the Mac nut day although I do remember your vlog about it and you said you rationed out 15 nuts thoughout the day is this correct?
I am taking HHCG and I seem to be in a stall, Im pretty sure im doing everything right and the Ketone strip says that Im burning at a medium but Ive not dropped in two days. I have been trying the MTC/ACV shot and the MSM (your right…. super nasty but in Canada I cant find the liquid) last night, I did them just before I ate dinnerthen afterwards I felt super queezy and even still today, I also made a batch of Chocolate delight…not a favorite but at least its something to put in my mouth during those hungry times…do you think Im doing to much at once?………..I know, lots of questions!!!! This stall has really thrown me for a loop so early on in the game (10days) but im down 10lbs from load weight.

    • colleen says:

Have you measured? Since you said your Ketone look right I have a feeling you are losing inches. Chocolate delight was not for me, so can’t say either way on that =/. Now lets put this in perspective, you said you have lost 10 lbs in 10 days. Remember when we were happy if we could weigh into weight watchers after a full week and we thought 2 lbs was awesome? YOU are doing GREAT!! But yes, if you are quizzy don’t slam your system with too many concoctions;)

  • Joey says:

    Hi Colleen

First of all thank you for all you’ve done by way of informing all of us who are on this journey. I truly appreciate you!
So I did the macadamia nut fast today and am hoping that I did it correctly. I measured out 5 one ounce portions and spread them out throughout the day. Is that correct? I did get a bit hungry a few times though, but was able to press through. I’m in P2 and have been stalled for 6 days and I even gained .2 yesterday and .2 again today. My situation is a confusing one, so please bare with me. I started a bottle of hhcg drops and was about to finish 6lbs shy of my goal weight when my drops were about to run out. I wanted to continue since I didn’t plan on doing another round and heard that you could actually go 60-90 days on hhcg drops. So I was all for going longer! A friend of mine said she had about 1/2 of a bottle left and that I could have it. So I started those but there really wasn’t quite enough so I quickly placed an order for another bottle. I’m getting somewhere with all this, I promise 🙂 Well, while waiting for my order, I was about to run out of drops again when someone told me that I could extend the drops by adding vodka to the remaining drops. They even gave me an article that explained it. So I figured, why not. Worse case scenario, the vodka doesn’t work and I’m basically doing a couple days interruption. Well two days after I did the drops that were extended with the vodka I started the 6 day stall. Plus my ketone level went from being pretty strong to a trace or small amount. That’s when I decided to do the ff today with hopes of breaking the stall and then start the new drops when they finally came in. To my frustration my drops FINALLY arrived today but the bottle had shattered in the shipping. So obviously I won’t be using them. Now the reason I told you my sad long story is this…If tomorrow I have a release, can I assume that the drops with the vodka may very well be working and that I have just hit a true stall? If so, I’d like to stay on just till I hit my goal which is about 5lbs away. I have decided that no matter what, I am going to stop the drops on Oct 30th which would be day 63. I have no intention of going any longer than that even if I don’t reach my goal.
Thank you for indulging me and for taking the time to read my story! I’m hoping you can help give me some insight 🙂
    Blessings to you!

    • Joey says:

Oops, I forgot to ask you what course I should take if you feel that the drops aren’t working. How would you suggest I transition to P3? Again, many thanks to you!
      Joey

      • colleen says:

If the drops aren’t effective HCG simply eat clean and increase your lean protein servings. As you add foods in keep a record so you know what works and what you need to slow down on. Try to stay with low glycemic fruits as well.

    • colleen says:

      Hi Joey,
I am very curious about how you did with the mac nut fast so please let me know. As far as the drops your are using I am a fish out of water about that method. I always did injections. When I first began HCG I watched vlogs about sub-lingual hcg but that method you are still mixing with RX hcg. Now with so many companies jumping on the HCG bandwagon I don’t feel confident recommending something I’m not sure about. Mamaclok on youtube is the sub-lingual queen of hcg . I have met her and feel comfortable referring people to her if they don’t want to do the injections. Please update me when you get this reply.

      Thanks,
      Colleen

  • Lisa says:

I love your blog! I am in P2 and plan on doing a two day Mac nut fast starting tomorrow. Question: can you drink tea and coffee while on the Mac nut fast?
Best to you and thanks for the inspiration.
    Lisa

    • colleen says:

      Hi Lisa,
Thank you for your kinds words!
Yes, I am a big tea drinker and I don’t hold back while on the mac nut fast, keep me posted on how you do.

      Colleen =)

  • Jen says:

    Hi Colleen!
I just found your blog and nut fast info and so glad I did! I am on HHCG P2 day 36 and have lost 30 pounds so far. I want to do the nut fast for two or three days but have read somewhere that you should stop hcg drops when you reach a 34 pound weight loss. If I do the fast for three days it should put me well over the 34 pound loss. Do you think I can do the nut fast for that many days still and why do they say to stop after 34 pounds?
Thank you so much for your help! Hcg has been a miracle when I really felt I was destined to never be able to lose weight!

    • colleen says:

      Hi Jen,
I have no idea why you were told to stop at the 34 pound mark. It is usually the amount of days you are on HCG that you need to consider so you don’t get immune.
You should be fine with the fast as long as you remember to eat real clean afterward or you will gain the fat back rapidly.
Your body will need the adjustment period to adapt to the quick fat release.

let me know how you do!
      Colleen =)

  • Papande Newman says:

    Hi Colleen
I have been doing the HCG drops for 30 days now the sub-lingual is okay but not so successful, as I wanted. My question is can, I continue the diet with the injections for another 23 days, I am on a roll and hate to stop, I did not lose my full weight. I need to lose another 34lbs. I just ordered them and they are coming soon, or do I have to start phase 3 and restart after 3 weeks?? I lost 23lbs and I fear I will gain it back! Help

    Papande

    • colleen says:

      Hi Papande,

What I would do is this, take a break but no longer than 14 days before you start the injections. Only you know your willpower so its up to you how many days. The least amount would be 3 days. This isn’t “science” it is just what I would do. FYI, if you don’t go past the 14 days you don’t need to load ( this coming from a person who admits to having “load-phobia”). Also note this is all based on you being on real hcg when you were doing the drops. I don’t know if the drops you did was or wasn’t so take that into consideration.

let me know how you do 🙂
      Colleen

      • Papande Newman says:

I did what you said above, the drops where from nutrition store that are hormone free, but I continued with the injections and now after a week, I have stopped losing?? I also took breaks ever seven days, I have to admit I did cheat one day, but I maybe need to to do a apple day or something, I expected the injections to work better than the drops? Also I had to increase the dose to 200 units ad day, I started at 125 and I was hunger! so I increased it, How high can you go with these injections? I only see 200 as a max on your website? I lost 3 more pounds since on the injections and I am on 30 days now, do I have to stop in 10 days? or can I go another 23 days since I did not start with injections. Also the apple and steak days? are different from the protocol can you explain? Thank you for your time and you
are a real inspiration for me! My husband and I love your blogs and videos thank you!!!
(FYI oh I bought the same injections you did from the same pharmacy and my husband is a nurse and mixed it for me too)

        • Papande Newman says:

Oh I think I am going to try this Mac Fast too I think I need it

          • Papande Newman says:

The Mac Fast worked it broke my plateau!! I lost 3lbs, I was stagnated for 6 days
did not lose did not gain!! I did apple days, steak days etc. So strange and I felt more satisfied with the nuts, i guess they had more calories right?? I was not hungry! Thanks again!!!

          • colleen says:

That is awesome! I’m so glad it helped you 🙂

  • becca says:

I just had a quick question, would it be a bad idea to do a fat fast following a gain due to a cheat? i would think that would be counterproductive and cause me to gain more weight but i wouldnt know for sure till i try it. i was just wondering if youve seen this done before.

  • Loretta says:

    Hi Colleen.
This is the first time I have heard of the fat fast on phase 2,
can you substitute peanuts in the shell instead of macadamiats
nuts? It’s a lot cheaper and easier to get in bulk.
    thanks Loretta

    • colleen says:

      Hi Loretta,

I wish O could,I cant say if that would be a good substitute. Though a peanut is a nut and fatty I think it is the oil of the mac nut (MCT) that is the secret weapon.Especially since when on P2 the whole idea that it would work actually doesn’t even make sense…but it does work. In the past I have ate almonds instead and didn’t get near the loss. And when you really think of all that we spend to lose weight, 5 oz of mac nuts per day for no more than 3 days can get worked into a budget. Now after saying that, you could experiment and see how the peanuts work for you, but please let me know so I know your testimonial. 🙂

  • Carolyn Timmons says:

    Thank You so much!
I read and reread your web site and all your you tubes daily, you keep me going. We are both 5’4″ and I started on hCG at 177.6. Every day I compare your weight loss with my own, so far you are winning a bit. lol My goal is to lose 25 pounds on this first round and I am down15.2 on day 26, so I am hoping to do it.
I wanted to tell you a treat or tiny snack for when you really miss chips and dip. I use the inner tight leafs of romaine lettuce and dip into PACE picante. I have looked at the manufactures site and all I can see that could be iffy is the natural flavoring. Just a couple leafs and a tablespoon of picante and I am good to go. I have used it twice and seen nothing happen that I can tell. It really satisfies and I figure if it keeps me hones , except for that, I am doing great! Try it and see what you think.

    Thanks again,

    Carolyn

    • colleen says:

      Hey Carolyn,
      Congrats on you awesome progress!
I love your lettuce tip. If you don’t mind I think it would be great if I could use your tip as a post on the blog (giving YOU the credit of course) so more people will see and benefit from the idea 😉
      Keep up your wonderful releases!!!
      Colleen =)

  • Carolyn says:

    Of Course, please do.

This little snack has made a difference in my steadiness on the diet. Of course I know it is not strictly protocol, to do on p2 but I am willing to do this and leave off one of my fruits and I do not use the cracker at all.

You are such a good example, and I am sure you have helped thousands you just never know about.

    Thank You

    Carolyn

  • Carolyn says:

    Colleen, one more thing. hehe

Have you tried SOBE lifewaters? I just bought a few to try after Christmas on p3. I looked up the one thing that sounded weird and am going to copy/paste here.
I think they would help if you like something a little different and light at times.

    BENEFITS OF ERYTHRITOL:

    • All Natural – GMO Free
    • Free of gluten, wheat & soy
    • Zero Calories
    • Great for low carb diets
    • Safe for diabetics – Erythritol does not affect blood serum glucose or insulin levels. Zero glycemic index
    • High digestive tolerance – Erythritol is rapidly absorbed and eliminated from the body within 24 hours. Laxative side effects, sometimes associated with excessive polyol consumption, are unlikely when consuming foods containing erythritol.
    • Does not cause tooth decay –
    Inhibits plaque formation and cavities
Remineralizes tooth enamel – controls S. Mutan bacteria
    • Tastes Great – Erythritol has a pleasant, clean taste with no aftertaste.
    • Does not encourage the growth of yeast, including candida albicans

*Great for chocolate, baked goods, beverages. Can be mixed with other sugars.

So, there’s what I was talking about, they have good stuff, like vitamins in them too. I figure if I am gonna get a drink I want it to be good for me.

Keep up your great work for us all,,Carolyn

  • Carolyn says:

Sorry, for two quick posts here, but I forgot to say there are two SOBE drinks out there.
The one I am talking about is LIFEWATER made by south beach, and uses stevia and the erythitol with good stuff added like vitamins. The other , I think, not sure, Pepsi bought from Sobe and it is not so good, has sugar and probley other stuff we would rather not have.I stopped looking after sugar on the label. Ha!

I have crystal light PURE in my cabinet that I have used before, but it does have 3g of sugar along with truvia and 15 calories per serving.
Actually that is 30 calories a useage, cause they say a serving is 1/2 a package. Come on, who is gonna use 1/2 a package? well, maybe Delmen , lol, no really you could to just flavor something, I guess, but I think it is sorta not being truthful, cause people are busy and they read, grab and go with it lots of times without really digesting all it says. Like speed reading.
Well, I need to go, I am raattling on.

    Love Ya,
    Carolyn

  • Miss P says:

    Hello!
I was wondering about the the Macadamia Fat Fast…what is the max amount of nuts allowed each day? Also, when is it permitted? Is is permitted at any time during phase 2?

    Thank you!

    • colleen says:

      Hi,

It works out to be 5 one ounce servings. Tough to say how many nuts that is because the size varies. Though you wouldn’t think you could do the fat on P2 people release. But you MUST eat really clean After the fast or you will gain the loss back for sure.

  • emily says:

Hi! Did you have any trouble stabilizing after your mac nut fast? I wouldnt mind trying it for a day or two…do you do this every week? Like the monday and tuesday? Does it have to be in a row or can i do monday..wed, or friday? Also…sorry for all the questions, lol, did you have any issues stabilizing once in p3? I sometimes have one or 2 mac nuts a day in p2..some times a tiny piece of coco crack too..but I dont want to push my luck. Im afraid ill lose it but it will be hard to keep off. I know I need to eat clean p2 for a few days after. Do you think its just a quick release and then no lose for a few days and it evens out? Or do you continue to lose at a semi normal pace the days following? I would love to up my weight loss by 1 or 2 pounds a week..but I already do an off protocol fff day on sats…however I get the biggest losses from this day ( 1.8-2.5 pounds each time) I can only do it once a week though. Id love to try more tricks but scared It’ll back fire. Thanks in advance!!

    • colleen says:

      Hi Emily,

I rarely do the fast anymore. If you want to do a nut fast each Monday that should be fine. eat P2 perfect the rest of the week. Before I knew about the fat fast I would always to a “mini steak day” on Saturdays to help my overall release for the week. The mini steak day is simply one 4 oz steak and one apple for the day. I would treat myself to a Filet Mignon. I would ask the meat dept to weight it out for me (what a diva…lol).
The nut fast and or the fat fast is cool but since it is a lot of fat rushing through your system it can cause gallbladder issues if you over do it.
I don’t have a gallbladder but the people that do must proceed with caution. As far as stabilizing The best bet is to re-introduce food that is not on P2 slowly. Write down what you are eating and then when you weigh you will know what worked well with your system and what needs to wait or do less of.Let me know if you have any other questions and have a great round!

      Colleen =)

  • emily says:

also …do you have to be on a “stall” to do this? Or can I just do it as a boost cause Im greedy. I gained my weight back super quick after a bad p3 last round and a super bad 3 -4 weeks around the holidays. So I want it back as soon as it came! lol. Thanks!

  • Katje says:

    Hello Colleen,
I have no question because I have been reading and watching your vlogs religiously! I just wish to thank you so very much for all your help! I feel so fortunate to have stumbled across you in early days! I am on p2 my 3rd week and am down 23 pounds! I am certain your helpful tips and inspiration have been a catalyst for me! Thank you!
    Sincerely, Katje

    • colleen says:

Hi Katje – Ah thank you so much for all your kind words!
You are doing awesome on your journey, be sure and keep me posted.

      Colleen 🙂

  • Katia says:

Hi, thank you so much for your good advice always. I’m in R1P2D18 and lost 16#. It’s fantastic but for the last 3 days I’m at the same weight. I want to try the Fat Fast,do I eat only Mac nuts or do my diet and add the nuts?
    Thanks in advance!!

    • colleen says:

Sorry so late with reply! I’m sure you figured it out by now (mac nuts only) But I want to apologize that I missed this question originally.

  • Stephanie says:

    Hi Colleen,

I just wanted to say thank you for all of the very helpful information you bring to us HCGers! So far, I have lost 96 pounds in the last year… four to go until I hit 100… and… I just hit a stall during this round. This is my first real stall. (I must mention here that the first 45 pounds that I lost, I lost on my own… not on HCG.) Today I began the Mac Nut Fast. I have only done it once before… after watching your vlog a few months ago…only did it for 2 days that time and lost 4 pounds, so I am hoping this one has at least that same outcome. I have about 25 pounds left to lose until I reach my goal, which I wasn’t really sure I would be able to maintain until I found your vlogs. 🙂 So many people say that the weight is impossible to keep off, but I stabilized so well last round that I am 100% sure that your experience and success can be emulated simply by being diligent and sticking to the plan! Many many thanks for your ongoing commitment to our shared success!!!!

    • colleen says:

      Hey Stephanie,
What you said is all about why I do what I do…Thank you so much for making my day a GOOD one!!!!
U me dear are a SUPER AWESOME success in itself…Be Proud!!!

      • Stephanie says:

Thank you so much Colleen! 🙂 Mac nut fast went well, by the way… I stayed on it for three days and lost five pounds. Net loss as of this morning is 104 pounds. 🙂 I am now an 8/10. This is the last day of the VLCD for this round. I would like to be a 6, and I think I can be there after one more round. In the meantime, I am looking forward to the Rib-Eyes that seem to be the key to my stabilization! 🙂 Wishing you the best! PS You look wonderful!

  • Laura says:

I’m doing Atkins, but have stalled, so if i’m not taking HCG, can you still do the MacNut fat fast? I do have 2 bottles of the HCG at home, can I start taking it again with my low carb diet?

    • colleen says:

      Hi again Laura,

When you decide to go back on HCG just stick with regular “pounds and inches” protocol. If you seem to come across a speed bump at that point the nut fast will be fine. But don’t go on HCG unless you are fully mentally ready to do a solid round. 🙂

  • laura says:

Hi, do you have to be on HCG to do the mac nut fast or can anyone do it? Thanks for sharing!!

    • colleen says:

      Hey Laura,
No HCG needed… The fat fast was originally designed for people that had metabolic resistance. By all means do the nut fast but though I know the losses will tempt you to do it as long as you can – don’t go beyond 2 or 3 days, especially if you still have your gallbladder. So much fat rushing through your system can be tough on the poor thing! And definitely keep me updated on your success! 🙂

  • laura says:

Thank you Colleen…I will keep you updated! Also, in your video you mention to eat “clean” afterwards..what exactly do you mean??
    thanks!

  • Blue says:

Colleen, I’m intrigued by the “fat fast” but I don’t think I have anywhere near the discipline it must take to do the hcg diet. I’ve been trying to transition into a naturally low-carb version of the paleo diet, though (specifically Mark Sisson’s variation), and I’m thinking a fat fast would probably fit in with that very well.

How often are you doing the fat fast? Could I do a 3 day fast once a week for a few weeks? Hats off to all of you who are able to stick with the HCG diet. Food is my drug of choice and my emotions are all tangled up with my eating habits, so I’m finding it really difficult to get on track and stay there. Hoping this will give me a nice jump-start!

    • colleen says:

      Hi,

Yes you can do the fast for 3 days. If you still have your gallbladder use caution as to how much you do the fast. Because the fast floods your system with so much fat exiting it can be rather taxing on the poor gallbladder and you certainly do not want a gallbladder attack (very painful)!
let me know how you do 🙂

  • Blue says:

After leaving my first comment I saw that you’d already answered my questions in earlier replies – thanks for being so patient! I do have my gallbladder so I’ll be sure to limit it to 3 days per week. I’ll let you know how it goes 🙂 Thanks for sharing so much info!

I know that you stress eating clean for a few days after the Mac nut. That would be protocol on P2, but what is eating clean on P3? I want to make sure I know what I’m doing before I start. Do I have to eat P2 food again? I might miss my burgers and eggs 😉

Thank you so much for your wealth of knowledge.

    • colleen says:

Sorry my answer is kind of “tardy” =/
Eat the burger but no bun. Stick low to know carb, eggs should be fine. Think low glycemic with your choices. I have a post in my blog explaining the glycemic index if you want to look.:)

  • seema says:

    hi colleen,

i just came across your video on youtube. i am a vegetarian. i would like to know more about your mac nut fat fast day. from the video what i understood was;-
    1. eating 5 ounces of macadamia nuts(throughout the day) only. and water?? nothing else?
    2. do this for 3 days…and continue with regular vlcd?
    3. continue taking hcg drops?

i dont have a gall bladder.

i apologise if these questions seem stupid…im just very confused…

i’m a little scared about how this works? wont it increase fat percentage?

    thanks.
    seema.

    • colleen says:

      Hi Seema,
The theory is that since you are taking in fat your body isn’t afraid to release fat, That is the easiest way to explain it all.
You can have water, tea, coffee if you would like.I even drink the cali-kickers I like too. I think lots of water is important to help flush out everything from the fat to the salt on the nuts. I do only mac nut because of the MCT benefits and I don’t have to take time figuring out other foods and weighing them. Even though it doesn’t make any sense this works whether you are on HCG or not. I didn’t believe it would work till I tried it myself. Please keep me posted on your results if you decide to try it.

      Colleen 🙂

  • seema says:

    hi colleen,

thank you so much for the “super” prompt reply….reading your blog shows that you really care about people doing HCG and helping them with everything…

    yesterday(19/06) i weighed 65.2 kgs body fat-36.4%, so i did your mac nut fast, i had only 5 ounces of mac nut…this morning i weighed 64.9 kgs bf-36.5%.. a 0.1% increase….not much difference….but i’m doing day 2 as well…

i’m putting my faith in, and ive started the fat fast…yesterday was day 1…felt a little queasy and nauseous had a headache as well….any reason for that??

i had a few questions in mind-:

    1. what are the long term effects of doing fat fast?i weigh 65 kgs as of now, and since i’m a vegetarian, i havent had a lot of good losses. will this help with that. my goal weight is 55 kgs..for which i might have to do round 2.

    2. since iv’e been on VLCD for the past 28 days, wont having so much fat suddenly, cause my body to store it?

    3. my current body analysis on omron (morning after peeing) shows that my wt:65.2 fat percentage 36.6%, rmr-1328, body age 41( i actually am 25 yrs old), bmi-26.6 and vis fat-9.

when i begun at 72 kgs 39% body fat, 4 months ago, with fluctuating on the diet, my rmr was 1498…it has come down significantly, i read on the net that higher the rmr better it is…how would you explain this? have i been losing muscle instead of fat?

thanks alot for all your help and kindness…

    seema.

    • colleen says:

      Hi Seema,

I must admit I have a rough time understanding the numbers you are giving me since the weight method it different than the USA,
hopefully I can still help though. I get queasy sometimes too and headaches usually represent a detox symptom. A friend of mine that grew up in Hawaii told me that mac nut oil is used as a laxative. I know that sometimes when our bodies are cleaning themselves out if what you body is trying to clear out gets to a certain part of the intestine if it is having a hard time clearing whats in there it can cause nauseousness.
You asked – “what are the long term effects of doing fat fast”?
I don’t think it should be a constant “go to” remedy. The Fat fast is meant for anyone who is metabolically resistant.Since you said you have a difficult time losing you might be in that category. When I 1st heard about the fast I wondered why the body wouldn’t store the fat too especially when on HCG P2. At the time there was another HCGer doing the fat fast and her releases each day just astonished me and I couldn’t help but want to try it for myself. When you ask about losing muscle instead of fat during your rounds it does concern me if the hcg drops you are taking isn’t really hcg. There are so many products that are out there just wanting to make quick money and don’t care what it is they are selling. How did you do after day 2 of the fast?
Keep me posted and have a great weekend,
      Colleen

      • seema says:

        hey colleen,

day 2 my weight was the same..64.5 kgs…which is 141.9 pounds.

also the fat percentage remained the same. so basically in 2 days ive lost only 1.3 pounds, which worries me, because i dont want to gain it back once i go back on vlcd.

  • seema says:

    sorry…in 3 days total i lost 1.3 pounds….because yesterday was day 3..

    • colleen says:

      Hi seema,

I guess that is why they say “every body is different”. It is so very rare that I don’t hear a great result from doing this.
Just be sure to stay really strict on P2 protocol and there should not be any rebound . You are so close to the 130’s you are probably working through a old “set point” from a weight you were in the past. Once you make that break through you will probably experience an easier time of it. Have you tried also adding using apple cider vinegar to your plan to help things along?
I really want to help you get where you want to be!

  • seema says:

    hey colleen,

i cant tell you how encouraging you are to me!!! your kind words are really helping. wasn’t the mac nut diet specifically for people who are metabolically resistant? anyways…i havent tried apple cider vinegar, coz it smells too bad….but im at a point where im ready to try anything… tell me how to use it?

    thanks and love

    seema

  • seema says:

hey i forgot to add, that i bought the ketostix, and in the morning, they’re the darkest red, however by evening they become slightly darker pinkish….

i know that that’s a good sign. what i wanted to know was, that today is a friday, and i weighed 141.2, hence a total loss of 2.2 pounds in 4 days. should i start the mac nut again next week. i plan to do vlcd on sat, sun, mon, tues…is that a good idea? or should i stop it altogether?

    thanks

    seema

  • Stacy says:

    Hi Colleen,
I am on P2 and wondering… Can I eat 2 apples (at different times) as my 2 fruits in a day?
    Thanks!
    Stacy

  • seema says:

    hey colleen,

thank you so much for all your help. i still wanted to know if it would be ok for me to try the mac nust fast fast again? since my ketosis strip did turn the darkest shade.

also i took the apple cider vinegar. here we only get the american garden brand of it. i took 1 tsp in half a glass of water, and then had plain water over it. is that ok?

thanks a million for being patient with me,

    love,
    seema

    • colleen says:

      Hi Seema,

The way you took the vinegar was fine as long was it gets in your system diluting it won’t hurt.
I’d say since your ketosis was showing a burning fat result so you were on the right track. Make sure you are monitoring your inch loss too You might be one of those HCGers that has lots of inches met away whether the other numbers are going slow. There is reason Dr Simeon called the who;e thing “pounds & inches”.
I will answer your protein powder question here too.
Do you have access to the Jay Robb protein where you are. That one I know more about and like that stevia is used and there are no carbs. I don’t know anything about the brand you mentioned but I understand with being vegetarian you need to find alternate ways to get the protein in and I encourage that! If you use the brand you talked about be sure and journal what happens good or bad when you incorporate it. That way you will know if it will work for you or not.I’m glad i was on my computer more this weekend so I could help more quickly 🙂

      • seema says:

        hey colleen,

thank you so much for being so so so patient with me. no we don’t get jay robb protein here, stevia we get.

i’m surprised that you do not seem to know about nature’s best isopure protein, its very popular in the USA.

i mix the hcg myself, since i take it sublingually. even the ACV we get here is not organic.so i’m kinda in a tough spot. i’m really having trouble with my weight issue don’t know what to do. have tried everything. i’m still stuck on 64.5 kgs… oops…for you that would be 141.9 pounds ( 2.2 pounds=1 kg)….

no questions this time. just a super big thank you for your kindness,

        love
        seema.

        • colleen says:

          Hi seema,

Is the weight you are stuck at right now a weight that your body has been at in the past so a consistent amount of time?
I have this feeling that once you push past the 140’s then you will see steady releases again.

          Colleen:)

          • seema says:

            hey colleen,

i cant stress enough how much i love it, that you actually care about people who write to you…

well i have been 67kgs (147.4 pounds since 2007, i dont remember about my weight before that….but i guess i was….well i have started the fast again, today being day 2, and i lost 200gms since yesterday, i was 64.8 yesterday, today i was 64.6….i really am struggling with this number somehow, im even taking about 4 tsps of ACV throughout the day, still…..

i wanted to ask you, since im soon gonna enter p3. and i dont have meat or eggs or fish being a vegetarian. is it ok if i start having whole wheat pasta, or brown rice, lentils, or something and can i use olive oil for cooking, or the pam sprays or something, coz now im going insane without any decent hot cooked food. i cant live on spinach soup and yoghurt as on p2…..please help….

            thanks

            seema.

          • colleen says:

            Hi Seema,

What I think you will love instead of the rice or pasta is roasted veggies.
I put a variety of broccoli, zucchini, mushrooms, and on occasion asparagus (though for you that veggie you may want to take a break from) And I will add red, yellow and orange bell peppers (not spicy) sometimes. Then I drizzle olive oil over the top add minced garlic and sprinkle with either kosher salt or sea salt. Put in in the broiler for approx 8 min. then stir around and broil for another 5 min. The tops will look grilled – YUM! When my son sees what I’m eating he always says” you are going to eat all that?” It’s SO good!
            Colleen 🙂

  • seema says:

    hey colleen,

sorry for asking so many questions, i hope you dont mind,
since im a vegetarian, is it ok for me to have my protein through isopure low carb protein powder, 2 scoops a day? since you have more knowledge on the hcg diet.

    thanks
    seema

    • seema says:

      hey colleen,

thank you so much for answering, i’ve been having these veggies only for the past 30+ days, im sick and tired, i needed a change desperately, is it ok if i have sprouted mung beans or moth beans(search google in case you don’t know about these)….even brown rice isn’t o.k?

i need a big change now….im super frustrated. i weighed my self after 2 days of mac fast, i lost another 300 grams….so i guess you’re right about being stuck on 140s….aarrrghhh…

some grain has got to be ok…like quinoa or something….HELPPPPP

      thanks a million

      seema.

      • colleen says:

        Hi Seema,
So I can be sure we are on the same page as far as what you allow on P2 you didn’t follow the original protocol when making your veggie and fruit selections?
Because you want help with your results I need to know anything you are doing different than the original. I understand about the protein powder since you don’t eat meat.

I have been really thinking a lot about your carb question since yesterday. Can you get miracle noodles where you are at? If you can that would help you a lot I think. Is buying things online very restricted where you live as well?
I know you want the carbs you listed and I think the combo of not getting the result you want and feeling fed up with the food restriction equals a stress level that isn’t helping either.
Add the cards you want but do it slow. one type of item at a time. For example don’t eat pasta and rice the same day. This way as you journal if youR body does well with one and not the other you can identify what works. and what might not till later on.

        • Stacy says:

          Hi Seema,

Julian Bread Company makes a no carb bread that you might be interested in. I have ordered it online in the past and it was great if I toasted it. I just found out a local market carries it here where I live now so yay! No shipping!

          • Stacy says:

Also Seema, have you tried steamed cauliflower that you mash up and spice up/ put butter in (if you are on P3)? It is so good and definitely a lot like mashed potatoes!

          • seema says:

            Dear Stacy,

it’s so nice to get advice from you!!!!

but unfortunately in India we dont get low carb breads, and i’s not too fond of cauliflower…. i wondered if sprouts were ok?

        • seema says:

          hey colleen,

thanks for replying, ive been very careful on p2….i’ve stuck to the protocol very strictly. i do understand that i wouldnt lose alot because of the milk.

i live in India, its tough to get miracle noodles, joy robb protein, or even low carb bread here.

i mixed the hcg drops myself, with sterile water and hcg powder, i did not put liquid b12 or colloidal silver, HCG is readily available at pharmacies here.

im ok with not having wheat, or pasta or even rice, but what about sprouts? i was searching online that sprouts are high in protein and low in carbs, since you’re quite the master at the HCG i wanted your advice on it.

          thanks seema.

  • Stacy says:

    Hi Colleen,

I am thinking of doing mac nut fast days for my last two days of phase 2. Those are days without drops of course. I am thinking it might get my weight down a little more before starting Phase 3. Is that a good time to do it? Also, is mac nut fast good in Phase 3 as well if the weight fluctuates over the 2 pounds?

    Thanks 🙂

    Stacy

    • colleen says:

      Hi Stacy!
Can I just say I think it is so very cool that you want to help someone else with their questions – YOU ROCK!!!
As far as the mac nut question. I hope I’m not too late in your decision making. If you are about to winddown from a P2 round though I know it is UBER tempting don’t do the fast to get a quick extra 2+++ pounds off before P3. Your body will be having to adjust to new foods entering into P3 and I don’t want you to experience a rebound effect. The fast during P2 is better when you are pretty much midway in a round and want a release boost, or well into P3 and beyond….Hope that makes sense!

And again thank you for helping others, that means so very much!!!!
      Colleen 🙂

  • seema says:

    hey colleen

thanks for all your help till now, i started a new round after taking a break, its been 10 days and i’m stuck at 64 kgs(142 pounds)…can i do the fast with walnuts? macadamias wont be available for the next month? or any other nut? i’m getting frustrated now…please help… i even have 1 tbsp of acv a day, tried the cali kicker too…nothing seems to be helping, i’m losing hope…and i fear if i’m damaging myself in return..

    helppppp

    seema.

    • colleen says:

      Hi Seema,
I prefer the mac nuts for the fat fast because of the MCT benefit. But read my post that explains the basic Atkins’s fat fast . There are a variety of foods you can eat on the fat fast. I know walnuts and almonds have benefits of their own. After you read the post and do a bit more research on your own based on your vegetarian needs I’m sure you can come up with alternate foods that can help give you a metabolic boost.
      Keep me posted!
      Colleen

  • seema says:

    Dear Colleen,

thank you so much for replying…you have no idea of how supportive you are to me!! i’m not giving up…i’m gonna stay strong and brave through the stall….

i wanted to ask…isn’t having walnuts better than having cream cheese, or heavy cream or something, i totally understand your reason for using macadamia nuts…but since those aren’t available here, i have no choice..

should i go ahead with the walnuts? or will they definitely cause a gain?

thanks for replying so quick, i really appreciate your help,

    seema.

    • colleen says:

      Hi Seema,
Even with the mac nut there is never a guarantee that there may not be a gain.Since every persons body is different. If I only had walnuts as an option I would try it for a day and see how my body reacts. Keep in mind that mac nuts have approx 204 calories in 1 ounce (10-12 kernels). There are 185 calories in 1 ounce of Walnuts. Since that is a nut that is yummy without salt that should be a plus but still drink a lot of water the day you do the fast to help flush the mobilized fat out of your system.
      Colleen 🙂

  • seema says:

    hey Colleen,

  • susan says:

I am in Phase 3. I messed up about four days into it by binging on wine and off-protocol foods. I have since gained 9 pounds above my LDW. I am thinking of considering this a planned interruption and going back into Phase 2 for a ‘do over’. I did the mac nut day yesterday in hopes of bringing that number down and trying to get things a little bit under control. There was no change on the scale. I strictly followed the fast. I am trying it again today. I’ve switched from heavy cream in my coffee to (canned) coconut milk to see if dairy has anything to do with it. Did anyone ever get back to you about having cocoa crack/delight on a mac day fast? Do you have any suggestions as to why I didn’t show any losses? This isn’t the first correction day I tried with no success this round. Thanks, Susan

    • colleen says:

      Hi Susan,

Since I simplified the fast fast all the way down to one food choice ( mac nuts) that is usually what feedback I get the most. Other feedback is sometimes when a different nut to eat is selected.I do know heavy cream in the mug cake recipe still shows a good loss result after doing that method. Choco delight always seems to be a mixed review. Either it really helps people with releases or not at all.It is so funny how all our bodies and systems work so different.Though you said you strictly followed the mac nut fast,I wonder if adding the cream in the coffee was just enough to throw off the loss. Another thing I wonder is if the sugar in the wine was still lingering in your system so though on the fast your body had that sugar to use as energy.I agree that your best bet is to consider it an interruption, don’t load again and just go right back into proper protocol asap. I think just good solid P2 clean eating will get you back on track nice and quick. I do commend you for doing all this through the Holidays, that right there shows that you will see success from your determination!
      Keep me posted please. 🙂

  • susan says:

Thanks for responding. I did two more days on the nut fast and had some success. I went down to just 4 lbs over my LDW. I stayed with coconut milk as creamer and didn’t try the choco delight. I ate regular P3 yesterday. I am doing a salmon day today. I am going to try to give it a few more days to see if I can get stable closer to my LDW. I know Dr. S says that if a planned interruption is less than two weeks, loading isn’t necessary which makes me think they can be longer than two weeks. Do you know if there is a maximum time for planned interruptions? Thanks for your help!

    • colleen says:

      Hi Susan,
Though I understand the importance of loading I admit to having “load-phobia” – LOL. When I cycled (interruptions) no more than 14 days seemed best. I actually rarely went past 10 to 12 days. As you stabilize the best thing to keep in mind is slow and steady as you reintroduce foods your haven’t been eating back in. Keep a journal or use an app so you know what works and what might have to wait for awhile. How do you like salmon days?

      Let me know.
      Colleen 🙂

I just finish the 3 days of mac nut, I just want to thank you because, I am in p2 in hcg shots and I was on a stall for 10 days when I found your video , I was afraide to do the mac nut fast , but I said to my self what you have to lose , so I did it , I made it with raw mac nut, and I lost 8 pounds , 4 pounds in the first day , 1 in the 2 day and 3 in the 3 days , I was wondering if I just keep with the protocol of p2 or need to take of the fruit and also I jut 8 days to finish a 40 shots round can I wait 5 days eating the protocol do A 2 days of macademia nut and finish p2 , so how many days I need to eat clean , so the weight don’t come back, sorrry for my english is bad.

    • colleen says:

      Hi Veronica,
      Congrats on your success!

    Hey Colleen,
I am on P2 Day 15 of HCG diet and don’t see good results with it. I am a vegetarian , so I wanted know if there is something I can do to boost my weight loss.

    Thanks

      Hi Kiran,

I would need to know a lot more before I could suggest.
For example, are you on RX HCG injections?
There are so many products out in the market claiming to be HCG. =/
Also it would have been a lot easier on you if you would have started your round right after finishing a period.
Please give me a bit more info so I can help you properly.

      Colleen

    Hello Colleen,
Thank you for your reply. yes, I am taking RX HCG injections and today I am on P2 D 22. My weight is 148.6 and I am strictly following the diet. Please suggest me what should I do.
    thanks

    • colleen says:

      Hi Kiran,

I don’t know how many of my vlogs you have watched or how many blog posts you have read but I am very into all kinds of tricks that I have tried and liked.Look up the cali kicker, the ACV/MCT shots (drink like a tequila shot),mini steak day and the CLA/Borage seed supplement combo (not one supplement but 2 taken together)and I have more you can look up. Not that you need or should do them all. Try what you think you would like and journal the result so you can figure out what works best for you.Since every body is different you need to find your personal nitch. I naturally like to experiment which was why though it made no sense that the fat fast should work on P2 I tried it so I would know for myself after someone else at the time did so well with it.All I know is If I decided to try something I heard about I also knew I had to own my decision. For example the way I did my rounds and breaks between P2. I fully understood that if I would had to be a lot more disciplined after that to get stabilized so be it. Gosh I have to run but didn’t want you waiting on a reply any longer…
      Please keep me posted!

It seems like this diet really agrees with you. I’ve done many rounds and I seem to always gain the weight back. I have a very restricted diet, wheat-free, sugar-free, low carb, meat-free. I eat veggies, fish and some seafood and eggs and whey protein/plant-based protein and nuts. I’m sure I’m not perfect and could occasionally over eat but I’m not a food addict or anything like that. I wish I had your confidence that what I was doing was successful. I can’t seem to find a way with this diet that I feel successful. I stave off the weight as long as I can, but then it comes back. Do you gain much weight back? Is that what all the tricks/correction days are about? Does this diet really work?
