Phase 1 and Beyond HCG -The Don’t Do List
Never mind Phase 1- The Majority of of this List is Important to Take Seriously if you are Serious About Your Health
The Don’t List
• No Microwaving
I’m at least careful of what I use in the microwave . For example. Watch out for the type of container our leftovers in in. Don’t cover with plastic wrap before re-heating etc.
But for the Nuts & Bolts Theory and to be be sure your are protected from potential harm Google “the risk of microwave cooking”.
• Don’t Eat Farm Raised Fish
There is So MUCH Research especially based on salmon – Goggle it for yourself and see what you find out!
• Don’t Drink a lot of Ice Cold Drinks
It is a free country so I’m entitled –
I beg to differ; it is my opinion that drinking cold water can help the body burn more calories because it has to work to regulate the internal body temperature.
• No Lotions or Creams
This one I feel is a matter of common sense.
What you put on your skin absorbs into your system.
Take the time to really Know what you are using. I don’t go without anything, simply do your homework.
• Be in Fluorescent lighting
Artificial light adversely effects our bodies. Simply Goggle “fluorescent light health risks” to find out what it does to our bodies hormone levels that are associated with stress and how it can flare other life crippling maladies.
I had a boss that made a point to not work in fluorescent lighting even though the rest of us had no choice. If you work in a office environment that you do not have control over do not beat yourself up about it. Simply do what you can within your means to change the lighting that you can. Or educate the co-workers you can influence to make a change.
• No drugs OTC or Other
Many drug side effects “small print” will list weight gain etc. as a reaction that can happen when taking.
Ask you doctor first!
If you are on meds prescribed by your doctor I do not think it is a good idea to stop cold turkey
The Rest of this list is what I call the “No Duh” List – LOL
Don’t Eat Trans Fats
Don’t Eat Fast Food
Do Not Consume High Fructose Corn Syrup
Do Not Consume Monosodium Glutamate (MSG)
Do Not Eat Foods with Nitrates
Do Not Eat Foods with Artificial Sweeteners
Let’s face it – a blog post could be dedicated to each one of these!
For example; Aspartame-ew
Is Phase One Required When Starting HCG?
If there is Phase 2 and Phase 3 where did Phase 1 go?
We always hear Phase 2 and Phase 3 being talked about when referring to the HCG Protocol. So what is Phase 1?
Well a very good business man named Kevin Trudeau highly respected Dr Simeon and his research and decided to share Dr Simeons theory by writing a book.
Of course to write the book and make it his own it would require additional information.
So he set out to add his spin on the original protocol. In this case I am not saying the word “spin” is bad – It just is what it is. There is always something a person can learn from a different view, all I want to do is help inform then you can take from it what you want.
Phase 1 in a Nutshell
This phase is not required, I didn’t do this phase prior to my HCG journey but had done a cleanse a few months before.
Plus the author who recommend Phase 1 said based on today’s conditions it is highly recommended. The author felt this phase addresses and corrects many of the new underlying causes of obesity that Simeons did not contend with in the 1950’s and 1960’s.
But he went on to say that if you skip this phase, or do it halfheartedly you can still achieve spectacular results in Phase 2.
The phase consists of a series of Do’s and Don’ts.
It may be difficult for most people to do all the steps in this phase with strict adherence.
The idea was to do Phase 1 for the thirty days prior to starting Phase 2.
The author said the more you do in this phase will result in losing more weight faster during Phase 2. And will accelerate the fat and weight loss in Phase 2, plus make the whole protocol easier to complete. He went on to say the more you do in this phase will greatly increase your ability to keep the weight off permanently and eliminate food cravings in the future.
Much of what the author listed on the “Do List” is different supplements and enzymes that many HCGers including me have used and talked about.
Along with simple logic –Drink plenty of water; be active for good circulation etc.
Don’t eat after 6 p.m. Eat 6 small meals through out the day – you get the idea. The basics we have all read for just about every food plan out there.
Other natural good for you ideas are asked to be implemented as well– Apple Cider Vinegar, coconut oil, use spices that help with metabolism, and eating certain fruits for good digestion are also listed.
In the next few posts I will explain in more detail the theory behind these suggestions and what I feel can help whether before, during or after your HCG journey. Heck, even if you chose not to use the HCG method.
I will share my experience with these suggestions and the benefits of incorporating some of them. Plus easier ways to utilize these and why I think they can really help you too!

Question of the Day – What Are HCG Phases?
Question: Thank you so much for all your help. I have ordered my hcg and supply kit. I’m very confused on the different phases though. Do you have something explaining this on youtube or on your blog?
Your question motivated me to create a blog post explaining the phase thing. Simply put phase 2, phase 3 lingo was done through Kevin Trudeau who basically took Dr Simeons original protocol from the 1960’s ( gave him credit for the research in his own book “The Weight Loss Cure” But put a spin on a few things so he could make a pretty penny by reintroducing this theory . As time has gone on the terminology has basically blended together as one.
I tell all newbie’s who are willing to listen “READ Pounds and inches over and over again” When asked a question I still find myself going back to it and reading it. I always end up reading more that what answers the questions because the research is so fascinating. I have a free pdf available on my website so it is easy to get.
Pounds and Inches
I feel reading the original protocol also enables you to truly understand why this will be so incredibly different and successful than anything you have done before.
Below is merely “snippets” of what Kevin Trudeau renamed as “Phases”. The Dr explains as “Courses.
In Trudeau lingo he also includes Phase 4 which all that is , is lifetime maintenance and a Phase 1 which was a “detox” phase and another way for him to capitalize monetarily.
Don’t get me wrong I think detoxing is a great thing to do. And being an entrepreneur can be a very good thing. I didn’t do a detox right before starting my HCG journey. But I had done a fasting detox that I have talked about in past you tube vlogs.
My motto for a long time now came from the great Zig Ziglar,
“You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want.”
Phase 2 (P2)
As explained in Dr Simeons Pounds and Inches
The 500 calorie diet is explained on the day of the second injection to those patients who
will be preparing their own food, and it is most important that the person who will
actually cook is present – the wife, the mother or the cook, as the case may be. Here in
Italy patients are given the following diet sheet.
Breakfast: Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar.
Only one tablespoonful of milk allowed in 24
hours. Saccharin or Stevia may be used.
Lunch: 1. 100 grams of veal, beef, chicken
breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab,
or shrimp. All visible fat must be
carefully removed before cooking, and
the meat must be weighed raw. It must
be boiled or grilled without additional
fat. Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or
pickled fish are not allowed. The
chicken breast must be removed from
2. One type of vegetable only to be
chosen from the following: spinach,
chard, chicory, beet-greens, green
salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions,
red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus,
3. One breadstick (grissino) or one Melba
4. An apple or a handful of strawberries
or one-half grapefruit.
Dinner : The same four choices as lunch.
The juice of one lemon daily is allowed for all purposes. Salt, pepper, vinegar, mustard
powder, garlic, sweet basil, parsley, thyme, majoram, etc., may be used for seasoning, but
no oil, butter or dressing.
Tea, coffee, plain water, or mineral water are the only drinks allowed, but they may be
taken in any quantity and at all times.
The Duration of Treatment
Patients who need to lose 15 pounds (7 kg.) or less require 26 days treatment with 23
daily injections. The extra three days are needed because all patients must continue the
500-calorie diet for three days after the last injection. This is a very essential part of the
treatment, because if they start eating normally as long as there is even a trace of HCG in
their body they put on weight alarmingly at the end of the treatment. After three days
when all the HCG has been eliminated this does not happen, because the blood is then no
longer saturated with food and can thus accommodate an extra influx from the intestines
without increasing its volume by retaining water.
We never give a treatment lasting less than 26 days, even in patients needing to lose only
5 pounds. It seems that even in the mildest cases of obesity the diencephalon requires
about three weeks rest from the maximal exertion to which it has been previously
subjected in order to regain fully its normal fat-banking capacity. Clinically this
expresses itself, in the fact that, when in these mild cases, treatment is stopped as soon as
the weight is normal, which may be achieved in a week, it is much more easily regained
than after a full course of 23 injections.
As soon as such patients have lost all their abnormal superfluous fat, they at once begin
to feel ravenously hungry with continued injections. This is because HCG only puts
abnormal fat into circulation and cannot, in the doses used, liberate normal fat deposits;
indeed, it seems to prevent their consumption.
Phase 3 (P3)
As explained in Dr Simeons Pounds and inches
As soon as their statistically normal weight
is reached, these patients are put on 800-1000 calories for the rest of the treatment. The diet is arranged in such a way that the weight remains perfectly stationary and is thus
continued for three days after the 23rd injection. Only then are the patients free to eat
anything they please except sugar and starches for the next three weeks.
Such early cases are common among actresses, models, and persons who are tired of
obesity, having seen its ravages in other members of their family. Film actresses
frequently explain that they must weigh less than normal. With this request we flatly
refuse to comply, first, because we undertake to cure a disorder, not to create a new one,
and second, because it is in the nature of the HCG method that it is self limiting. It
becomes completely ineffective as soon as all abnormal fat is consumed. Actresses with a
slight tendency to obesity, having tried all manner of reducing methods, invariably come
to the conclusion that their figure is satisfactory only when they are underweight, simply
because none of these methods remove their superfluous fat deposits. When they see that
under HCG their figure improves out of all proportion to the amount of weight lost, they
are nearly always content to remain within their normal weight-range.
When a patient has more than 15 pounds to lose the treatment takes longer but the
maximum we give in a single course is 40 injections, nor do we as a rule allow patients to
lose more than 34 lbs. (15 Kg.) at a time. The treatment is stopped when either 34 lbs.
have been lost or 40 injections have been given. The only exception we make is in the
case of grotesquely obese patients who may be allowed to lose an additional 5-6 lbs.
if this occurs before the 40 injections are up.
Patients requiring the loss of more than 34 lbs. must have a second or even more courses.
A second course can be started after an interval of not less than six weeks, though the
pause can be more than six weeks. When a third, fourth or even fifth course is necessary,
the interval between courses should be made progressively longer. Between a second and
third course eight weeks should elapse, between a third and fourth course twelve weeks,
between a fourth and fifth course twenty weeks and between a fifth and sixth course six
months. In this way it is possible to bring about a weight reduction of 100 lbs. and more
if required without the least hardship to the patient.
In general, men do slightly better than women and often reach a somewhat higher
average daily loss. Very advanced cases do a little better than early ones, but it is a
remarkable fact that this difference is only just statistically significant.
What does all the abbreviations mean?
VLCD – Very Low Calorie Diet
TOM – Time of the Month
POP – Perfectly on Protocol
MOP=My Own Protocol – for people who make alterations to the “OP” (original protocol).
LDW – Last Dosage Weight
LIW – Last Injection Weight
P2 – When on HCG 500 calorie protocol
P3 – Stabilization phase between rounds (phase 3)
P4 – Lifetime maintenance (phase 4)
Rounds – When on P2 (phase 2)
Round length – Either 23 day or 40 day
Cycling/Interruption – When only off of P2 for no more than 14 days then go back into a new round (no loading required)
Correction Day – Done when you are more than 2 pounds above LDW or LIW.
There are many different types of “Correction Days”. One whole post could be dedicated to this subject alone. It usually ends up being a “single” food day.
HCG Question of the DAY!
Just checked your videos and website. you really did a great job:) your before wasn’t bad at all but way better healthier after.. good luck
i just started purchase hcg and waiting for my shipping and reading as much as i can while waiting and i have some questions please..
Response – Thank you so much, but being the person with the extra weight trying to hike up the trails – I’m here to say…it was bad, I felt like an “old lady” being pushed up the incline . Loved that my family Loved me no matter what but HATED how that all felt!
Q 1-how do you chose which dose to take daily for injection for a women 42 years old?
ANSWER – I always did a 40 day round using 5000iu HCG ( always injections) if you want to do sub-lingual check out Karen (YT -mamaclok) so she can help. I found my “sweet spot” was 125 ( the usual amount for most)Breakdown chart on this website. Let me know if you need help with navigation to find it .You just need to start at that amount and then adjust depending on your weight and hunger level. All I can say from personal experience is as “tricky” as it is, once you hit the “sweet spot” you know when you have arrived.
Q2- i know i should stop one day a week but do i stop during my monthly period?
ANSWER – YES – at least during the “heavy flow”. But if you can wait for the entire cycle to be done that is best
Q3- if you please put in your website what to eat in each phase that will be great help for newbies
Response – I will need to look back at my journal but basically when I am on P2 I am very “plain Jane”.
Unless I am doing a “mini steak day” (once a week) I stick with chicken breast, shrimp, or fish. My “BIG” salad with my mustard dressing (on this website). And I love the shrimp scampi recipe that is here on the website from Shannon (YUMMY)
I also love broiled asparagus . As far as fruit… apples ( baked with stevia and cinnamon) are great on cold evenings. When on HCG are always cold evenings – LOL.. And strawberries with powder stevia sprinkled on them. I don’t care at all for the grissini so I omitted that mid way on my very first round. But thise that keep it as part of their P2 may be less “carb sensitive” – hey you never know…
thank you so much for sharing your success
Response – I appreciate your questions!!! – I hope my answers help!!! =)
HCG Works! I am so grateful to God, Hcg and all you wonderful hcgers . How I feel physically, mentally now is as though I have been given a whole new life!
Originally aired on youtube January 26th, 2010 when I was new to HCG
Before I knew about HCG I was was having several health issues along with my excess weight. My brother recommended that I do the Master Cleanse because he and his girlfriend had not only lost weight but had experienced great health benefits as well. Allergy issues etc. had improved immensely for his girlfriend.
So I decided to do the cleanse the same time they did so I would have a support system while going through it. I liked the benefits and improved health I experienced.
Please don’t do this cleanse with HCG. The maple syrup is not on protocol.
For the lowdown on the Master Cleanse
