How to Figure Out Grams and Ounces

How many macadamia nuts equals one ounce?

How many macadamia nuts equals one ounce?

Today’s Help Alert

Comment –

I am just starting and my biggest issue is trying to figure out the grams and oz.

My Recommendation –

When I started the protocol I bought a small scale that weighed in either ounces or grams.

While on P2 weighing out the shrimp or chicken was a cinch using this scale!

Amazon has great prices and I still use my scale especially when I want to do my nut fast.

I just put the mac nuts in the little tray then throw each serving into a snack baggie.

Enter Grams to Ounces in Google and a  Conversion Calclator will be right at the top.

Which HCG Brand to Use?

What HCG Brand did you use?

This is a good question so I decided to make it the question of the day.

Question:

Thanks for all the great information. I have just learned of hcg. I just have some basic questions to help decide which way to go.

I see where you list suppliers you have purchased from, but not what brand you purchased/used. So basically I just would like to know what exactly did you use and how did you get it. Did you have to have a prescription?

Answer:

A prescription for HCG wasn’t needed.

I prefer to get Hucog brand or the generic version of it. I have also used Corion and it was fine too. To save on the shipping and handling I always purchased 3 at a time. And since I preferred to do 40 day rounds I would buy 5000 iu. I have the mixing breakdown on this blog for both 5000 iu and 2000 iu. But I am most familiar with the 5000 iu. The bacteriostatic water can be bought online from medical supply, bodybuilder websites and Amazon. My very first round I bought a supply “kit” that had everything to get started except for the hcg. After that because I had examples at my fingertips of what I needed I would get everything on my own.

Online HCG ordering site I prefer is  – Reliablerxpharmacy

Side note: Since my original blog post if I do a HCG round ever so often I don’t have enough fat to lose so even the 23 day round is too long for me. I get to goal around the 14 day mark. I stay on because of the HCG protocol reccommendation. I end up a bit under weight but that is fine to give “wiggle room” for holidays or vacation time etc (usually that is when I decide on a round).

In the past I have been over 200 lbs. My orriginal HCG journey/protocol doesnt let my body get too far beyond the 130’s (aka “set point”).

A couple of times I have ventured into the 140’s went back on HCG and arrived back to my “happy place” the 120’s.

Recently I have had a lot of life stress that has been more than usual which caused emotional triggers and stress belly fat that I can usually keep in check to surface…Let’s face it we have all been there – ARG!

I also since I have this blog keeping current with the HCG experience isn’t a bad thing – LOL

Can You Exercise on HCG P2?

HCG Question of the Day

Can You Exercise on HCG Phase 2?

This is such a simple question but a very good one.

I based my choice on  what Dr Simeon explained. He mentioned in Pound & Inches that his American patients were not use to walking the way his Italian patients were. So I if they started doing more physical activity (walking distances) when normally they would be driving to get somewhere their releases would slow down or stop. So he didn’t want those patients adding exercise that their bodies were not use to during P2.

Question: You look great!! Did you exercise while you were on HCG P2?

Answer: During my first rounds I didn’t exercise. Once my body was use to an exercise routine I started during P3 then I was able to be on P2 and walk the treadmill and lift light arm weights and still had releases without a problem.

Note: Since this post I am still doing my exercise regime and it is now 2018

What is HCG Phase 1?

Is Phase One Required When Starting HCG?

hcg phase one

HCG Phase 1

If there is Phase 2 and Phase 3 where did Phase 1 go?

We always hear Phase 2 and Phase 3 being talked about when referring to the HCG Protocol.

What is HCG Phase 1?

For most people Phase 1 is considered  the Loading Phase.

If you land on this post and prefer to read about loading click through to my post about  Loading.

The Other Phase One:

The Author of the book below hasn’t always done the “right thing” in business. But what he did do right was believe in Dr Simeone’s Pounds & Inches research.

Let me explain…

Well a very clever business man named Kevin Trudeau highly respected Dr Simeon and his research and decided to share Dr Simeon’s theory by writing a book The Weight Loss Cure They Don’t Want You to Know About.

Of course to write the book and make it his own it would require additional information.

So he set out to add his spin on the original protocol. In this case I am not saying the word “spin” is bad – It just is what it is. There is always something a person can learn from a different view, all I want to do is help inform then you can take from it what you want.

Phase 1 in a Nutshell

This phase is not required, I didn’t do this phase prior to my HCG journey but had done a cleanse a few months before.

Plus the author who recommend Phase 1 said based on today’s conditions it is highly recommended. The author felt this phase addresses and corrects many of the new underlying causes of obesity that Simeons did not contend with in the 1950’s and 1960’s.

But he went on to say that if you skip this phase, or do it halfheartedly you can still achieve spectacular results in HCG Phase 2.

This  phase 1 consists of a series of Do’s and Don’ts.

It may be difficult for most people to do all the steps in this phase with strict adherence.

The idea was to do Phase 1 for the thirty days prior to starting Phase 2.

The author said the more you do in this phase will result in losing more weight faster during Phase 2. And will accelerate the fat and weight loss in Phase 2, plus make the whole protocol easier to complete. He went on to say the more you do in this phase will greatly increase your ability to keep the weight off permanently and eliminate food cravings in the future.

Much of what the author listed on the “Do List” is different supplements and enzymes that many HCGers including me have used and talked about.

Along with simple logic –Drink plenty of water; be active for good circulation etc.

Don’t eat after 6 p.m. Eat 6 small meals through out the day – you get the idea. The basics we have all read for just about every food plan out there.

Other natural good for you ideas are asked to be implemented  as well– Apple Cider Vinegar, coconut oil, use spices that help with metabolism, and eating certain fruits for good digestion are also listed.

In the next few posts I will explain in more detail the theory behind these suggestions and what I feel can help whether before, during or after your HCG journey. Heck, even if you chose not to use the HCG method.

I will share my experience with these suggestions and the benefits of incorporating some of them. Plus easier ways to utilize these and why I think they can really help you too!

Do The HCG Diet

Why are“they” saying – “Why you should not try The HCG Diet

Instead…..DO the HCG diet!

I Am so Glad I found out about HCG –  it has changed my health and quality of life ALL for the Better!

Oh boy , nothing like making me mad to motivate me to post on my blog!

I subscribe to various email send outs that are about diet, health, fitness and exercise.

I like to know what is out there and also when I find something I think will help all of you I like to share.

Well awhile back  one “fitness guru” put out an email “warning” about HCG…. I poo-pooed it since it was SO silly.

Well the same guru sent it out again but made a few tweaks since the last one.

Now I am the first one to say that if you are NOT on REAL HCG and go on the pounds & Inches protocol you WILL be starving yourself and some of the bad side effects could happen. Not because you are on HCG but because you are basically not eating  and don’t have in your system what HCG has to help your body go after the abnormal fat stores in your body to use as energy.

If these “experts” would simply take a moment before bashing HCG and READ the manuscript then either they will “get it” and back down (though I doubt).

OR

Because they will feel too threatened that the money they are making selling what they want to sell will take a hit they will come on even more fierce against the method.

That is exactly why FDA does what they do. You don’t think they feel threatened when the companies that pay them big bucks might feel the pinch?

OK after that statement if I get hauled away in the middle of the night by the FDA mafia someone please send out a search party and save me before they kill me….. Notice there is no LOL of JK after that…=/

Concerns

Some of the side effect  “concerns” the email I mentioned I would like to comment on based on my own personal experience.

In 1988 after being on the Weight Watcher plan I had to have gallbladder surgery 🙁

I wasn’t part of the lawsuit  but after that happened to me I read that weight watchers and similar companies like them along with slim fast were sued because so many people were getting gallstones while on those plans.

In 2009 BEFORE I knew HCG existed I was hospitalized for Blood clots in my right leg. At that time I was about 209lbs and unfortunately was taking the birth control medicine Yaz to help regulate  my cycle 🙁

My Cholesterol was too high and my Dr. advised that I go on a diet and take Omega 3.

I was also Vitamin D Deficient and had to go on prescription strength vitamin D.

I had breathing issues and my doctors had prescribed an inhaler.Plus I would get heartburn easily (ouch).

My hair was thinning to the point that even my hairdresser was extremely concerned.

Bottom line I was a mess and  just plain felt awful.

I began my HCG journey on January 17th, 2010

Since on my HCG journey

My Cholesterol level is excellent, my heartbeat is fine , and blood pressure perfect!

Since I had past history of vitamin D deficiency when I see my Dr. he will check and the results are always normal now.

My hair is growing really well and my hairdresser comments that fact every time she sees me.She also reminds me how scared she was for me back in 2009.

I never experienced pregnancy like symptoms while on HCG i.e breast soreness, water retention etc. That email claimed that was a side effect too.

My cycle is more regular after starting HCG then before .

No heartburn or breathing problems at all…..Money saved rather than spent on prescription med – YAY!

Amazing what getting excess weight OFF will do to help with so many conditions!

I have remained the same size that HCG got me to . My weight may fluctuate a bit which is normal for anyone. I think no matter what weight we are we always think we could maybe lose another 5 lbs, why I don’t know. My male friends say it is a female thing…maybe.

Through all of my dieting history (since I was in grade school) No other diet I have been on has worked as well as the HCG protocol.

Think about it – I started on January 17th 2010. I actually surpassed my original weight loss goal I had set for myself by May 2010

I have been basically maintaining and or playing around a little with some methods (to experiment for you all) since then.

We are about to round the corner to 2013!!!! I’m excited!!! Can you tell!!!

2010-2013 – I think that is pretty darn cool!

Bottomline – I AM so very thankful that some email did not cross my path back in 2009 to deter me from trying HCG and doing the protocol…I have my health back!! 🙂

Can I Exercise On HCG?

working out on HCG

Can I exercise on HCG?

Can I Exercise While I’m on HCG VLCD P2

I have been asked this question many times while helping people new to the HCG experience. My answer back is, “Is you body use to an exercise program already”?

I would guess that all of us in the past have decided to suddenly get serious about wanting a result and started a diet and exercise program that caused us to way over do it because we were sedentary before beginning. Example – we weren’t even on a walking schedule let along running, weights exercise DVD’s. You see where I am going with this. In today society office jobs, computer time at home once you are away for the office tends to put exercise at a minimum.

So if you have not exercised before starting HCG this is not the time shock your system.

The explanation Dr Simeon gave in “Pounds & Inches” was that quite simply the patients from America that flew over to Italy for his treatment were not use to walking to get around town. Their bodies were use to driving to get where they wanted to go. Now here they were in Italy and walking in town to see the sights and get where they want to go.

The patients from Italy were already use to living that way. So what happened is the numbers on the scale would show slower releases for the patients that were now active when before they were not. Technically it isn’t a bad thing. Physically it is always good to be active, you will have better circulation.

It is always good to increase muscle especially as a person gets older. BUT mentally it can be a tough pill to swallow. We have all been there, you know muscle weighs more than fat, and you know you are releasing fat. You probably even see great shrink numbers when you measure. Even with ALL that we feel crushed when we hop on the scale and the release isn’t what we had hoped. Our mind and emotions can really do a number on us.

This is what I did during my journey. Since I had not been exercising prior to starting HCG I took Dr Simeon’s recommendation. Once I was in P3 I incorporate exercise so when I went back into a round my body would already be use to the activity.

I walked the treadmill and added light weights to help tone my arms. On one of my YouTube vlogs I was talking about what I was taking to help with loose skin.

Someone commented, “That isn’t loose skin, you just have to use arm weights to build up your arm muscles”. Low and behold I added the weights and did see improvement – YAY!

I was so glad that I took the advice instead of choosing to be offended the comment.

We all have so much to learn as long as we are willing to be receptive.

Keto Diet versus The HCG Diet

Harvard Medical Explains The Keto Diet like this:

Because the keto diet has such a high fat requirement, followers must eat fat at each meal. In a daily 2,000-calorie diet, that might look like 165 grams of fat, 40 grams of carbs, and 75 grams of protein. However, the exact ratio depends on your particular needs.

Some healthy unsaturated fats are allowed on the keto diet — like nuts (almonds, walnuts), seeds, avocados, tofu, and olive oil. But saturated fats from oils (palm, coconut), lard, butter, and cocoa butter are encouraged in high amounts.

Protein is part of the keto diet, but it doesn’t typically discriminate between lean protein foods and protein sources high in saturated fat such as beef, pork, and bacon.

What about fruits and vegetables? All fruits are rich in carbs, but you can have certain fruits (usually berries) in small portions. Vegetables (also rich in carbs) are restricted to leafy greens (such as kale, Swiss chard, spinach), cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, asparagus, bell peppers, onions, garlic, mushrooms, cucumber, celery, and summer squashes. A cup of chopped broccoli has about six carbs.

The HCG Difference is you Avoid Fat

This doesn’t sound as fun but once you have HCG in your system you will realize the bad fat in your body is melting, appetite is in check and you are able to get into serious ketosis aka burning fat. Drinking plenty of water to be sure your liver and kidneys are flushing out the fat being burned. Side not about avoiding fats on HCG there are a few GOOD fats the depending on the person can actually help you release fat faster. …Macadamia nut fast, MCT Oil .

Supplies Needed to do the HCG Diet

The List and Convenient Way to Buy HCG Supplies Online

Bariostatic Water

Alcohol Prep Pads

Sterile Empty Vials

Injection Needles

Finding the mixing needle was not as easy to find unless you want to get a blunt tip needle.

You could just use one of the injection needles to mix the water with the HCG. You just need to keep track of how much water you are adding. But that is also the case with the mixing needle.

Optional – Needle Cutter

Optional – Storage Container for Suppiles

Also many Dollar stores have decent starage containers 😉

HCG Life Maintenance Q&A

HCG Life Maintenance Q&A

OVERVIEW

A very sweet HCG You Tuber named Lisa…You Tube channel name – MightyMouse Lisa asked some “VET” HCG You Tube peeps to vlog about how they have maintained since their HCG weight loss journey.

I was honored to be asked to be one of the “VETS”.

Here Are the questions she wanted us to cover –

1. How long have you been off HCG?

2. Have you maintained?

3. Do or did you have emotional eating issues?

4. What measures do you take to keep you from ever having to do to this protocol or any diet ever again?

5. What got you to the point where you knew you had a handle on your stabilization?

6. Any advice on how to stabilize and maintain for life?

Once I began the vlog I realized that one vlog could only be a simple “overview” and it would take several vlogs to be more detailed with each question. For now here is the overview and the individual vlogs on each question will be yet to come.
