Phase 3 Food Question –

Hey Colleen,

I can’t stress enough how much I love it, that you actually care about people who write to you…

Question – I wanted to ask you, since I am soon going to enter phase3. And I don’t have meat or eggs or fish being a vegetarian. Is it ok if I start having whole wheat pasta, or brown rice, lentils, or something and can I use olive oil for cooking, or the Pam sprays or something? Because now I’m going insane without any decent hot cooked food! I can’t live on spinach soup and yoghurt as on HCG VLCD phase2…..please help….

Thanks

My Answer – What I think you will love instead of the whole wheat pasta, or brown rice, lentils is roasted vegetables.

Roasted vegetables is so simple to make!

I put a variety of broccoli, zucchini, mushrooms, and on occasion asparagus (though for you that veggie you may want to take a break from) and I will add red, yellow and orange bell peppers (not spicy) sometimes. Then I drizzle olive oil (coconut oil can also be used instead) over the top (I still spray the platter I use with cooking Spray to keep the vegetables from sticking and make clean up easier) add  minced garlic and sprinkle with either kosher salt or sea salt.Onion power makes the recipe even more savory. All the seasonings I add to taste so it will depend on your taste as to how much seasoning you will want to add. Put it in the broiler for approx 8 min. then stir around and broil for another 5 min. The tops will look grilled – YUM!

When my son sees what I’m eating he always says” you are going to eat all that?” Yep…It’s SO good!

f you are not vegetarian like the sweet person who asked this question you can also add shrimp, strips of cooked chicken breast (no skin) or lean steak, even feta cheese. I prefer feta because it is better for you than basic cheese. You don’t need to add much at all and when added to this dish it gives a nice tanginess to the overall flavor of the dish.

Another side note – I have tried this using MCT oil. It wasn’t that it was bad but MCT doesn’t like extreme temperatures so the vegetables end up being drier and the MCT oil kind of “smokes away” during the broiling process.

**If you are a Phase 2 person in the more liberal protocol that allows more vegetable selections than Dr Simeons’ original protocol (I have heard of plans that people that are going to HCG clinics are doing that also include Broccoli etc.) Also you can simply swap out the olive oil for the MCT Oil (though the mct doesn’t work as well)or omit the oil and drizzle with water for added moisture. Of course no oil will definitely keep it Phase 2 friendly no matter how you slice it!

Low Carb Cauliflower Fried Rice

Cauliflower Fried Rice Recipe

Phase 3 Friendly , Really Healthy and Just Plain YUMMY!

After I heard that cauliflower could be used to make fried rice without using rice I was really curious.

Not just curious but how it would work but if my family would approve of the dish.

cauliflower fried riceIt has been said fried rice is basically taking rice and adding leftovers you already have. What type of leftovers? Vegetables and meat of course (you can exclude the meat and even the eggs if you prefer). This opens up a lot of variety when you decide to make it. I am including the standard recipe. But the picture of my last batch was made with red, yellow, and orange bell peppers, mushrooms, scallions and spinach. The meat selection was a request from my husband which for this batch not as low calorie as it could have been. The last time before this one I used shrimp which is of course low calorie but my husband asked me to try adding sausage this time around. And I also added turkey bacon. Depending on the size of the batch the amount of eggs you will use varies. My last batch I used 3.

For Christmas my daughter bought me a Cuisinart food processor. This made breaking up the cauliflower a LOT easier. Before I had the processor trying to break up the cauliflower was really tough. Since posting this originally now stores like Trader Joes and Costco offer califlower aleady “grained” and Trader Joes has cauliflower pizza crust. It is so nice when store make being helth that much more convenient!

If you want to stick with the food processor I used the shredding blade and it broke up the cauliflower so it was granules like rice is. The first time I used the processor and the blade I used unfortunately broke up the cauliflower too much so the consistency was too mushy. It still tasted good but I knew it would have been better with the correct texture. My husband said he would like me to make the cauliflower fried rice every week. Those of you that are always trying to figure out what to make that will keep everyone in the family happy. This one does that. Both my kids say it tastes really good so I know I have a winner. I have made cauliflower pizza crust before but that was before the processor. The fact combined with the mistake of adding too many ingredients that were too “wet” made the pizza fall apart too much. After I try that recipe again I will let you know how it went. Both the cauliflower fried rice and cauliflower pizza are P3 friendly if the right additional ingredients are added. And it goes without saying the recipe is just plain HEALTHY without sacrificing taste. Along with the fact that the cauliflower is a good source of fiber as well.

Though standard fried rice usually has peas and carrots you are not stuck having to use carrots or peas. Both of those I prefer to not use. Carrots are high glycemic (sugar) and peas are starchy. There are so many other vegetables with a lot more benefits.

As far as oil I have used either olive oil, coconut oil or a Mediterranean blend oil. Sesame Oil is usually used but I don’t have that oil in my pantry. And to be perfectly honest I simply use 3 or 4 soy sauce packets that I got from Panda Express. I am notorious for not follow a recipe precisely. But the outcome is yummy and that’s what counts.

Here is the Basic Cauliflower Fried Rice Recipe

  • 1 Small Head of Cauliflower, cut into Florets
  • 3 Slices Bacon, Diced
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 2 Scallions, Sliced Thin
  • 3 Tbsp. Oil
  • Diced Meat of your choice
  • Veggies of your choice
  • 1 Tbsp. Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp. Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp. Minced Garlic
  1. Rice cauliflower florets in food processor or use pre-grained  from a  store I mentioned above
    2. Dice bacon and scallions.
    3. Fry bacon until very crisp, remove and let cool.
    4. Add oil to pan and start to fry the cauliflower.
    5. After a few minutes, push your cauliflower to one side of the pan, adding your garlic and scallions to the empty side.
    6. Add soy sauce black pepper and a slight bit of sea salt (to taste) to the “rice”.
    7. Mix everything together and allow it to fry for a few minutes.
    8. Push all your ingredients to one side of the pan again. Add your whisked eggs and allow them to cook.
    8. Add your bacon and mix everything in well, chopping the egg up to form smaller pieces.

Steak and Mug Cake

Steak and  Mug Cake Day

A trick I tried but didn’t get a chance to do it till I was done with P2 was the Mug Cake and Steak Day.
Many hcger’s have experimented with the later when on P2 and strangely enough experienced great releases even though it doesn’t seem to make sense. One thing I have learned when doing these release tricks is you need to be very strict on protocol or clean eating on the following days or the release will be short lived.

The How to:

Lunch: 100 grams of sirloin
Dinner: 100 grams of sirloin + Mac Mug Cake (recipe below)
Don’t forget to drink all of your water!

The recipe I preferred:
Mug Cake

1/2 oz Mac nuts ( ground)
1 tbsp coco powder
2 pkt stevia
3 tbsp heavy cream
1 tbsp coconut oil melted
And 1 egg

Mix it together and cook for about 60 sec.

Another Variation :
1/2 oz. of macadamia nuts (or 6 whole nuts), ground into a flour consistency
1/2 Tbl. dark cocoa
1/2 Tbl. cocoa
1-1/2 Tbl. xylitol
2 packets of Splenda for coffee, vanilla flavor (in the coffee aisle – optional)
1 egg
3 Tbl. heavy cream
1 Tbl. coconut oil
1 capful of s/f flavored syrup, Davinci or Torani (optional)
Fat-free Reddy Whip (topping, optional)

In a coffee mug, combine ground mac nuts, cocoas, xylitol, and splenda. Add one egg and mix well with a fork. Add cream and syrup and stir. Last, add coconut oil. If it clumps, break it up with a fork.

Microwave on high for 90 seconds. Some people had to microwave up to 2 more minutes. Let cool for a few minutes.

Top with fat-free Reddy Whip or any whipped cream around 10 calories per serving.

Healthy Sautéed Vegetables and Shrimp

Healthy Veggie Recipe

This one is Quick & Easy!

One of the questions I get asked quite a bit is –

What do I eat now?

This is a dish that is so good I actually crave it!

Pictured here is a combination of –

Zucchini, Mushrooms and Shrimp

Sauteed in 2 tablespoons of Coconut Oil

Add Minced Garlic, Onion Powder, Sea Salt and ground pepper to taste

I spray the skillet or Wok with a non stick spray like Pam before adding the oil, vegetables and shrimp over medium heat.

Once the oil has mixed through out the mixture I add the seasoning.

Just as the veggies are beginning to brown I remove from the heat

This recipe is so very Simple yet  So very YUMMY.

There are so many different vegetable varieties that you could add or swap to this basic recipe. Instead of onion powder you could add finely chopped onion instead. I have never been a onion lover so it is a miracle that I even like adding the onion powder.

Depending on the how you are going about your releasing journey this dish can be a great Phase 3 recipe to enjoy or possibly even P2

Get Started with HCG

HCG QUESTION OF THE DAY- How Do I Get Started On HCG ?

QUESTION:

Hi, I ran into your page through youtube, been looking to start on hcg I want to loose 30 pounds
but don't know where to start if you can please tell me how many vials to buy
and the list of the things I need to buy to start on hcg please

Steps I took when I decided to start my HCG journey

Though this was not the first online pharmacy I used it is the one I like the best.

Reliablerxpharmacy

Because the HCG is not expensive but shipping and handling is the same whether

you get one vial or 3 I opted to get 3. I always got 3 whenever I ordered.

When not mixed they have a long shelf life plus i keep mine in the fridge even when not mixed.

I always ordered the 5000 iu.

The brands of HCG I have gotten in the past based on availability are Hucog, Corion, and Novarel.

Next for my first round I ordered a kit that had all the mixing supplies and syringes from HCGbasics.com.

Amanda that runs that website was one of the first mixing vlogs

I watched on you tube and when I ordered was good about answering my questions.

Granted later once I knew what I needed I could order the supplies online myself for less money.

But for the first time it was nice to have everything I needed in one easy kit.

Sometimes peace of mind that you have the right stuff out weights the cost. The kit was approx $60

but it got me through if I remember right 3 rounds. Speaking of cost, if you are a seasoned dieter

like I have been all the different programs, supplements diet doctors etc that we have gone through

in the past in the grand scheme of things I would say my HCG journey was the most affordable.

NEXT while waiting for my hcg and supplies to arrive the MOST important thing

I did was READ the POUNDS & INCHES Manuscript over and over again.

I am not a person who loves to read BUT this is vital for a lot of reasons.

You need to truly understand why this protocol works especially when there

are so many hcg protocol “want-a- be’s” lurking out there now.

If you do the food plan without the REAL HCG you will not get the right result

and yes you will be hungry and for good reason (starved).

Step 2 – I watched YouTube to hear from other hcger on their journey and

about how to mix the HCG and recipes people had come up with.

Another word of CAUTION…From the time I started till now the environment is different on youtube.

Unfortunately when people or companies think there is a fast buck to be made they want to jump on the wagon.

Use Discernment when you watch a vlog. If it is all looking to “slick” I would move on.

Watch the people that you can tell are simply sharing their journey with you.

And if a channel looks like the vlog you are watching isn’t made on the channel you are one that is another red flag.

I have had to report copy write  infringement reports a few times because someone ripped my vlog

and put it on their channel so people would go to their website and buy what they were selling. And it was probably not even real hcg 🙁

Step 3 -Get or make sure you have the tools to gauge your success.

1 – Take your measurements measure EVERY area you can. Trust me later you will be glad you did.
(a Myotape is recommended)

I know this is a tough one. I didn’t take any but thankfully my brother

had snapped off some vacation shots that I hated looking at but was thankful

to have once I was in my “after stage” 🙂

Since you will do as I say and not do as I do 😉

Take from , back and both sides. Trust me later it will be worth it!

3 -scale to weigh the protein portions

$ Have a good body scale that also gives you body percentages.
below is the one I have but there are others now that you don’t

Have to “tap” to turn on

This probably looks very daunting at this point but it really is simple

and so very worth it when you realize the results you are going to get

will be more than you could have ever dreamed!

I have the protocol manuscript, measuring spreadsheets, and progress sheets

All free to download. Plus links to get to the various items so that should help a bit. 🙂

P.S. speaking you youtube I know I am WAY overdue to post a vlog.

I will do my best to post one in the near future.

Till then keep me posted on all your great success and let me know if you have questions 🙂

How To Make Coconut Butter

2 Quick Recipe Tips – HCG P3

Want to read a eye-opening fitness article? Then check this one out… it was sent to me by Jon Benson. I have his permission to pass it along to you. Enjoy!

One of the most surprising benefits I’ve discovered for being engaged to a gal from the Middle East, other than the vast cultural exchange, is the cooking.

Oh, yes ladies… my gal COOKS!

Which is good since I am a lousy cook. : )

Hanna enjoys it… and she brings a Middle Eastern flair to some really boring fitness/bodybuilding foods that I want to share with you today.

Here’s just two quick tips from Hanna on making the ultimate in “boring” foods — egg whites and tuna (yuck) — taste incredible.

TIP 1:
Lively Egg White Omelette

Let’s face facts: Egg whites suck. At least that’s what I USED to think until Hanna decided to experiment with my morning omelette.

Now I eat this stuff like it was candy.

Here’s what she does:

1. She cooks the veggies separate from the egg whites. You’d think this would be common sense, but I never did it and I’ve seen a lot of people just toss it all in together.

2. Add 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil with 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil to the veggies. This alone improved the taste tremendously.

3. Add 1/2 egg yolk to the veggies after cooking for 1 minute. This, again, is primarily for taste.

4. Garlic! If you love garlic, here’s your chance. Garlic ROCKS in egg white omelets.

5. Use Pam or another non-stick spray for the egg whites and cook them like you would a normal omelette. Then pour the almost-cooked veggies in the middle. Do the omelette dance.

6. Here’s the SECRET SAUCE… literally. This will sound nuts until you try it:

Shrimp Cocktail Sauce

Okay… Hanna’s bright, but this was an accident. She thought it was salsa. But I’ve NEVER gone back to salsa after stumbling on this incredible treat! I have no idea why it tastes so good, but it makes the omelette.

Try these tips and see if your egg white omelette doesn’t become your favorite meal of the day.

TIP 2:
Canned Tuna Extraordinaire

Again, I have the lovely Hanna to thank for this.

Like egg whites, I used to HATE canned tuna. Now, again, I can eat this every night without complaint.

Here’s what she does:

She cooks the veggies the same way as in the omelette above and then pours the tuna from the can into a skillet. That’s IT.

I’ve never had “tuna ala skillet” before… and I have no clue why this tastes so smooth and delicious, but it does.

If you hate canned tuna for being dry or tasteless, try this. You’ll never go back.

HCG Question of the DAY – What to do to get Started!

Getting Started with HCG

HCG Question of the DAY!

Just checked your videos and website. you really did a great job:) your before wasn’t bad at all but way better healthier after.. good luck
i just started purchase hcg and waiting for my shipping and reading as much as i can while waiting and i have some questions please..

Response – Thank you so much, but being the person with the extra weight trying to hike up the trails – I’m here to say…it was bad, I felt like an “old lady” being pushed up the incline . Loved that my family Loved me no matter what but HATED how that all felt!

Question 1-how do you chose which dose to take daily for injection for a women 42 years old?

Response – I always did a 40 day round using 5000iu HCG ( always injections) if you want to do sub-lingual check out Karen (YT -mamaclok) so she can help. I found my “sweet spot” was 125 ( the usual amount for most)Breakdown chart on this website. Let me know if you need help with navigation to find it .You just need to start at that amount and then adjust depending on your weight and hunger level. All I can say from personal experience is as “tricky” as it is, once you hit the “sweet spot” you know when you have arrived.

Question 2- i know i should stop one day a week but do i stop during my monthly period?

Response – YES – at least during the “heavy flow”. But if you can wait for the entire cycle to be done that is best

Question 3– if you please put in your website what to eat in each phase that will be great help for newbies

Response – I will need to look back at my journal but basically when I am on P2 I am very “plain Jane”.
Unless I am doing a “mini steak day” (once a week) I stick with chicken breast, shrimp, or fish. My “BIG” salad with my mustard dressing (on this website). And I love the shrimp scampi recipe that is here on the website from Shannon (YUMMY)
I also love broiled asparagus . As far as fruit… apples ( baked with stevia and cinnamon) are great on cold evenings. When on HCG are always cold evenings – LOL.. And strawberries with powder stevia sprinkled on them. I don’t care at all for the grissini so I omitted that mid way on my very first round. But thise that keep it as part of their P2 may be less “carb sensitive” – hey you never know…

thank you so much for sharing your success
Response – I appreciate your questions!!! – I hope my answers help!!! =)
