HCG – Getting Started Questions

Top HCG Questions

A youtube viewer wrote and asked some great questions.

I thought it would be good to post the assortment of questions and my answers because this is just about the top most asked questions when someone is getting ready to start HCG.

She wrote;
“I’m getting ready to begin my HCG journey. I’m so excited, yet at the same time I’m scared! Between your Loseit4ever channel, Mamaclok, and HCG  forums, I’m getting a lot of information, and becoming more assured that I’m doing the right thing for my health.”

Great Q&A!

Q-Can I continue to take my blood pressure and water pill meds while on HCG?

MY ANSWER – If these are prescriptions your doctor has you on you should not go off of them unless the doctor tells you it is ok.
When on protocol you should be drinking a lot of water which will also help you with your releases (2 quart minimum). Once your body “gets” that you will be drinking more water your body won’t try to be a “camel” and retain the water.

Q- I also take Melatonin to help with sleep.

MY Answer — I think Melatonin is good and fine while on HCG.

Q – And would you recommend a supplement for energy?

MY Answer — Many HCGers take B12. I take a lot of different supplements (Not diet pills) that also give my energy. Yerba Mate Tea is also good. But what I want to be sure is understood is that when on proper HCG the abnormal fat stores are being burned. Too many people only look at the 500 cal consumption and worry they will be weak but you won’t be. I wasn’t weak, lightheaded, none of that during my rounds.

Q-What do you recommend is best to eat during load days? I see Mamaclok from youtube ate donuts, but are there recommended “gorge” foods?

My Answer — Since that vlog I think Karen would agree better “gorge” choices are good fats. One successful HCGer loves to eat a big bowl of guacamole. I make sure I eat foods that I think I will “miss” once I’m on protocol. Mexican food and even though it has sugar, ice cream which is also high fat so the fat will slow the absorption rate of the sugar into your system. Other HCGers like to eat fatty meats as well. I just learned that finishing out your last load day 3 hours prior to bedtime with ½ a brick of cream cheese and 15-30 macadamia nuts helps your system to kick into ketosis better.

Q-Is loose skin expected with hcg weight loss?

My Answer — The great thing about HCG is we release the fat quickly.  But then your skin needs to play “catch up”. If I had it to do over again I would have taken the MSM in mega doses as soon as I started HCG.

Q- I see where you were talking about the Apple Cider Vinegar/ MSM cocktail shot – at what phase is this advisable?

My Answer — I came up with the Apple Cider Vinegar/ MSM shot for P2ers.Even though I have done the Apple Cider Vinegar/ MCT during P2. Since MCT is an oil I prefer a new P2er doesn’t do that one until there a reason for going that direction. Or once they know their body is settled into the HCG dose and adding the MCT oil won’t throw off your releases.

I don’t know why but it seems to me it is good to do your very first round as virgin on protocol as you possibly can. After the first round if you feel you want to try more “tricks” to see which ones work  for you go ahead but journal so you know what works and what you should avoid.

Q-I currently take Perfect Food Super Green Powder
mixed in water, because I don’t eat enough veggies. I’ve never checked the caloric content, though I guess it should be low, and fat free. Would you recommend continuing with it?

My Answer — You would have to let me know the ingredients. If carbs or sugars aren’t added it should be ok. But again even if it doesn’t have those ingredients I wouldn’t add it at first . Just do protocol and then add and journal the result. If you see that by adding  it you either stay steady with your releases or even better releases that you know you are good to go!

Q-Where did you purchase your hcg? (I plan on doing mine sublingually)

My Answer — I did injections but sub lingual also uses RX HCG so you can still purchase from where I did if you want.

I prefer Reliable Pharmacy(reasonable prices) is my favorite.

All Day Chemist (tried them because other hcgers mentioned them a lot)
and they are fine too. The way to pay with reliable was easier for me though.

What is HCG Phase 1?

Is Phase One Required When Starting HCG?

hcg phase one

HCG Phase 1

If there is Phase 2 and Phase 3 where did Phase 1 go?

We always hear Phase 2 and Phase 3 being talked about when referring to the HCG Protocol. So what is Phase 1?

Well a very good business man named Kevin Trudeau highly respected Dr Simeon and his research and decided to share Dr Simeons theory by writing a book.

Of course to write the book and make it his own it would require additional information.

So he set out to add his spin on the original protocol. In this case I am not saying the word “spin” is bad – It just is what it is. There is always something a person can learn from a different view, all I want to do is help inform then you can take from it what you want.

Phase 1 in a Nutshell

This phase is not required, I didn’t do this phase prior to my HCG journey but had done a cleanse a few months before.

Plus the author who recommend Phase 1 said based on today’s conditions it is highly recommended. The author felt this phase addresses and corrects many of the new underlying causes of obesity that Simeons did not contend with in the 1950’s and 1960’s.

But he went on to say that if you skip this phase, or do it halfheartedly you can still achieve spectacular results in Phase 2.

The phase consists of a series of Do’s and Don’ts.

It may be difficult for most people to do all the steps in this phase with strict adherence.

The idea was to do Phase 1 for the thirty days prior to starting Phase 2.

The author said the more you do in this phase will result in losing more weight faster during Phase 2. And will accelerate the fat and weight loss in Phase 2, plus make the whole protocol easier to complete. He went on to say the more you do in this phase will greatly increase your ability to keep the weight off permanently and eliminate food cravings in the future.

Much of what the author listed on the “Do List” is different supplements and enzymes that many HCGers including me have used and talked about.

Along with simple logic –Drink plenty of water; be active for good circulation etc.

Don’t eat after 6 p.m. Eat 6 small meals through out the day – you get the idea. The basics we have all read for just about every food plan out there.

Other natural good for you ideas are asked to be implemented  as well– Apple Cider Vinegar, coconut oil, use spices that help with metabolism, and eating certain fruits for good digestion are also listed.

In the next few posts I will explain in more detail the theory behind these suggestions and what I feel can help whether before, during or after your HCG journey. Heck, even if you chose not to use the HCG method.

I will share my experience with these suggestions and the benefits of incorporating some of them. Plus easier ways to utilize these and why I think they can really help you too!

Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

Health Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

One Tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar

Health Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar-Give it A Shot

Apple cider vinegar has been hailed as a cure-all dietary supplement, with health benefits ranging from relief from allergy symptoms to helping the body burn fat and lose weight. There are testimonials from people who believe that drinking apple cider vinegar has helped, ME being one of them but is there any evidence to back up these claims?

While a few studies have been conducted on the possible health benefits of apple cider vinegar, the “experts” say the number of people in these studies is typically small, and the evidence is not yet convincing. They say “One or two small studies is not enough to prove a benefit.”

Sorting Out Health Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

  • Weight loss. The idea that has been floating around is that apple cider vinegar somehow speeds up fat loss. So far there is no scientific evidence based on the small group studies to suggest that apple cider vinegar can affect metabolism, which is the way an individual breaks down food and burns calories.
  • Feeling full. A 2006 study found that people who took doses of vinegar while eating bread reported feeling more full than people who ate bread alone. While this study is considered proof by those who believe in the health benefits of apple cider vinegar, it is important to note that it only tested 12 individuals, and the authors concluded that much more research was needed before firm conclusions could be drawn. This study did not suggest that the way these people burned calories was affected.

BUT let me say from personal experienceWhen I drink just one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar when I feel hungry which is usually when dinner time hunger pains/pangs(however you like to call them)) start to kick in. That uncomfortable sensation goes away almost immediately! Plus I don’t really care about eating like I did before I had the “shot.”

My Challenge to you – Try it yourself for one week on whatever diet plan you are currently doing and just see what happens 😉

  • Cholesterol. A successful study that was done on rats but has yet to be replicated in humans. The study found that rats on a diet with an acetic acid supplement had lower cholesterol levels than rats without the acetic acid supplement. Acetic acid is one of the ingredients in apple cider vinegar and many other kinds of vinegar. For those who believe in the health benefits of apple cider vinegar, this study is promising. But there are other things to consider before assuming that the findings will be true in humans — primarily that there are key differences between the metabolism of rats and humans. The study authors recommend that the next trial be on hamsters, which break down fat in a way that is more similar to humans.
  • Diabetes. A few studies have found that apple cider vinegar helped in the management of diabetes; however, these studies are also limited by their small size. One study, which found that taking vinegar at bedtime reduces blood sugar levels the next morning in people with type 2 diabetes, examined only 11 people. Another study found that taking cider vinegar might have some effect on insulin sensitivity in some diabetes patients, but that research, too, was limited by the small number of people being studied.

Although there is not currently good scientific evidence for a health benefit of apple cider vinegar, this may change in the future. Researchers are still involved in some exciting research about apple cider vinegar, and the future is likely to bring better information.

Here is my last two cents worth – With both apple cider vinegar and lemon juice (I will do a post about what I think about lemons on another post) let’s simplify this thing down. A natural CLEANING solution that works very well is vinegar. Yucky build up on windows, household items and even your hair has been cleaned away by something as simple as vinegar. Who is to say that can’t hold true for helping clean out the “YUCK” in your body. Usually cholesterol, some allergies and excess fat or waste are attributed to an accumulation of sludge that you should want to strip out of your system.

I’m going to throw in one more “cent”.

It is my opinion that the real deal meaning the actually liquid and not pills or capsules saying it has apple cider in them is the most effective.

Ok- I have ran out of pennies for today…Be Well and Be Happy!

HCG Questions Answered – Releases,Hunger,Exercise,Expectations

A very sweet HCGer wrote –

Thanks so much for all this wonderful info. You are so amazing to take the time to share your experience, advice and recommendations for us fellow and newbie HCGers… I have a couple of questions for you since this is the first time I am doing this on my own.

Q – I have had good results of 11.6 lbs in 22 days… But here are my concerns maybe you can provide some insight on. I am doing injections 5000iu and started off at 150 but a week and 1/2 into it, I lowered it to 125. Some days I will do anywhere from 125-145… I will only slightly increase it if the day before I was a bit hungrier than I am comfortable with, or if my cravings are outa this world, so I have only done this about 3 times after starting 125. Um other than that? i am not sure what is going on.

My Answer – I think lowering to 125 was a good idea. The days you feel you need to increase I wonder why you don’t move up only by lets say 5 to 130. Spiking to 145 could very well b too much. You are mixing with 10 ml Bac water right?

As far as cravings – Have you tried others tricks instead of increasing your dose to cut the cravings or hunger pangs?

AVC/MCT drink shot
L-Glutamine (poured under the tongue)
Or even just ACV – Apple Cider Vinegar

Q-I was expecting a much bigger loss, although 11.6 is great! I am seeing WAY bigger losses for so many other people so I am getting a bit discouraged… =( and since I am doing about 30ish days,I was thinking about increasing to 46 days, but don’t know if it is worth it at the rate I am going…

My Answer – You haven’t said your start weight or your goal so if you don’t have a lot of abnormal fat the amount you have released in 22 days is awesome.

People talk about a pound or more a day. As we know women release less than men can. I know when I was expecting a pound a day, men on HCG would comment back that half a pound for women was more realistic. Darn those guys – Lol.

Q- I have also noticed my body losing inches, but not really around my tummy area, or upper arms which are the HUGEST problem areas for me. I only am noticing a great difference in my thighs, hips and buttocks, (mainly the last). Do you think this is normal? I am starting to think maybe my HCG is not potent or I may be doing something wrong…

My Answer – My arms were the last to show a significant loss in inches. Since Dr.S called his protocol “Pound & Inches” I bet you look as though you have lost 22 pounds as far as how much you have shrunk. Where you are losing first, have patience it will all proportion in the long run since this is all based on releasing the abnormal fat.

Q-I have cut out melba/grissini out and sometimes only eat one fruit. I am following Dr. S original protocol, so I do not know why these results seem to be “not normal” or fairly low… Do you think I may just have too high expectations?

My Answer – Early in my rounds I didn’t care about the grissini either and I would skip fruit a lot of times. BUT it wasn’t to try to increase my releases. I wasn’t hungry so I didn’t care about it.
If you are experiencing hunger you should at least add the fruit back in. Definitely keep your protein consumption, which is important.

Q – Also, what do you feel about exercising, like ab work and arm/leg toning? As for the exercise, I was going to the gym for about 3-4 weeks prior to beginning HCG… but cut it out when I started

My Answer – Since your body was use to the exercise then it stopped your body probably thought “what the heck happened?”. If it was me at this point I wouldn’t go full blown back into the routine you had been doing before (I don’t know what that was, cardio, weights etc). But start back to walking to get your heart going 😉

What you didn’t ask about but I want to add is –

Are you drinking the proper amount of water?

Here comes TMI – are your bowel movements consistent?

Have you done a Detox Bath?

When you eat your protein are you not consuming too much beef?
I mainly go for fish and chicken.
Steak was eaten if I decided to do a mini steak day. I use to like doing that one day a week during my rounds.
And are you sure that you are eating the correct veggies for P2 and also not mixing types of veggies.

The last question is for those that are using the original protocol.
I know there are variations floating out there. I need to still look into those further before I can have a “say” about them.

Journal what you are eating everyday and see if you can see a common thread. For example there are some HCGer’s that even though oranges are on P2 find that every time they decide to eat an orange they didn’t have a release or they might even have a slight gain. The argument I’ve heard is “an orange has the same calories as an apple”
But you know what? The 2 fruits do different things in and for your body.

Example – apples are a natural diuretic which is why Dr.S came up with “apple day”. It wasn’t for the patient to release fat. It was so mentally the patient would “feel better” because they would see the scale numbers go down. It was simply water weight that made the difference. This is also why though we are suppose to drink plenty of water while on P2 – if we do an apple day he said to keep water consumption to a minimum.

Now remember everyone – I am not a Doctor, I am a fellow HCGer that likes helping others with their journey! :)

HCG Question – New to HCG and Have Questions Before I Start

HCG Question – New to HCG and have Questions Before I Start

I’m getting ready to begin my HCG journey the first of May. I’m so excited, yet at the same time I’m scared! Between your channel (loseit4ever), Mamaclok on You Tube, I’m getting a lot of information, and becoming more assured that I’m doing the right thing for my health.

I do have a few questions. I haven’t had a chance to go through very many of your vlogs, but can you tell me:

Q-Can I continue to take my blood pressure and water pill meds while on HCG?

I below is the link to all 3 to make it easier to find
Reliable Pharmacy (reasonable prices)
Pharmacy Escrow (1st place I ever ordered from)
All Day Chemist (tried them because other hcgers mentioned them a lot)

….um, did I say a few questions! Anyway, thank you so much for sharing your experience, encouragement, and advice. I look forward to – as my time allows- viewing more of your uploads.

MY Answer – LOL – no worries , I LOVE to HELP! 😉

HCG- Question – APPLE CIDER VINEGAR, MSM, MCT – When to do what?

Understanding the ACV, MCT, MSM Usage

QUESTION – Do you do the acv/mct shots and the acv/msm shots? If so how often and how much of each?

My ANSWER – If I use MCI when not o P2 I’m getting that and ACV when I make my salad dressings etc.I also swig the msm liquid when I am applying my “skin recipe” on my face.So I’m getting the same ingredients without them being in a drink shot.

HCG Questions Answered!

HCG Daily Question

I keep meaning to create a FAQ page on this website. Here is a confession…. I am a terrible typist so by the time I answer everyone’s individual questions the day is done and it is time for bed – LOL.
So for now I am going to feature a question I am asked each day.
I also recorded a vlog which was inspired by these questions. I will add the vlog to this post once I get it uploaded to good old youtube!

And Now today’s AWESOME question or should I say Questions

Q – First of all what I wanted to know if you lost any more weight in your experiment round? –

ANSWER – My first week I did great then I became a “slacker” as far as protocol. As each week went by I realized I was experiencing what Dr S was talking about as far as the abnormal fat. HCG had done its duty and I didn’t have the abnormal fat that the hcg could work on and I began to get just plain “starving like” hungry just like he said would happen. My initial loss was good and became my new “set point” which was great. My inch loss went well and I lost sizes which was awesome. In hind site I should have never planned on a 40 day round – silly me. No regrets though, It was a good learning experience and a way to help others when they get to that point.

Q-When it comes to the MCT and ACV shot, what time of day do you take it? –
ANSWER – I think it is best before you have dinner
Do you do it on phase 3 also?
Phase 4?
For life?
ANSWER – You can but when I’m not on a round I tend to not use it because I use the two ingredients for other things I eat, salad dressing etc.

Q-How did the MSN powder work? – ANSWER – I mix it in water but found that using the liquid msm was far less bitter.
I think taking msm in a liquid form makes the difference because your body can absorb it more efficiently.
Q-What phase do you take yours on? Phase 1-4 for a lifetime? And what time of the day. –
ANSWER – I wish I had used msm as soon as I started HCG. because it helps with our skin, joints, muscles etc I feel it can be a life long supplement. To answer the time of day – ANSWER – I don’t think it matters,I take mine now when I am doing my skin recipe for my face because it is sitting right there anyway.
Q-any other advice on products that work on tightening your skin? and the round you used them on please.
My RESPONSE – Colostrum and Antler Velvet has been great along with the Skin recipe I’ve been doing on my face. I think adding those 2 supplements have been helping tone my skin overall as well.

Q-Did you ever get massages done while on p2? i know your not suppose to, but someone on a blog said they did and it helped their releases? Just wondering if you did.
ANSWER – Didn’t have any back or body massages but if pedicures count then yes 😉

Q-What time of the day do you take the California kickers?
ANSWER – I would either divide the serving up and do half mid morning then mid afternoon or the whole thing mid afternoon.

I sure hope posting this helps many others with the same questions :)

How to Test your HCG

I am “injection girl” so when I want to be sure my HCG is potent I simply go to the Dollar Store and buy a pregnancy test for a dollar. Then I put some of my HCG on the test to be sure it still shows up “positive”. For those of you that do sublingual here is a youtube vlog that helps you test your HCG when you mix with colloidal silver and B12.
