How to Figure Out Grams and Ounces

How many macadamia nuts equals one ounce?

How many macadamia nuts equals one ounce?

Today’s Help Alert

Comment –

I am just starting and my biggest issue is trying to figure out the grams and oz.

My Recommendation –

When I started the protocol I bought a small scale that weighed in either ounces or grams.

While on P2 weighing out the shrimp or chicken was a cinch using this scale!

Amazon has great prices and I still use my scale especially when I want to do my nut fast.

I just put the mac nuts in the little tray then throw each serving into a snack baggie.

Enter Grams to Ounces in Google and a  Conversion Calclator will be right at the top.

Can You Exercise on HCG P2?

HCG Question of the Day

Can You Exercise on HCG Phase 2?

This is such a simple question but a very good one.

I based my choice on  what Dr Simeon explained. He mentioned in Pound & Inches that his American patients were not use to walking the way his Italian patients were. So I if they started doing more physical activity (walking distances) when normally they would be driving to get somewhere their releases would slow down or stop. So he didn’t want those patients adding exercise that their bodies were not use to during P2.

Question: You look great!! Did you exercise while you were on HCG P2?

Answer: During my first rounds I didn’t exercise. Once my body was use to an exercise routine I started during P3 then I was able to be on P2 and walk the treadmill and lift light arm weights and still had releases without a problem.

Note: Since this post I am still doing my exercise regime and it is now 2018

How Long Did it Take to Lose Your Weight on HCG?

How Many Rounds Did You Do to Lose Your Weight?

merry go round 175X175Rounds..You Go On then Get off and Go Back On…Get it?

Question:
How many rounds did you do to lose your weight? Was it fifty you lost?

You look beautiful and are such an inspiration – Thank you

Answer:
It is tough to count the rounds since I decided to do interruptions/cycles. Please see my post about that since I don’t type fast and there was a lot to tell about it all.

For now, the best way I can explain my HCG duration is –

I started January 17, 2010 at 180 lbs. I had shot past my original weight goal I had set (135) near the end of May of the 2010, I was 128.
I went down even further by that July (in inches). Later on I lost more pounds too. Funny how events help jog the memory of what transpired. In May 2010 my husband and I decided to go to Las Vegas. There are outlet stores there so I decided to treat myself to some designer jeans.

Then in July we planned another Vegas trip for two reasons.

That year there were a bunch of HCGers that I was following on YouTube and they all decided it would be fun to meet. Since that was happening and my birthday is in July we went again. First I would like to point out; it was awesome to get to meet everyone in person. Any of you that watch Mamaclok on you tube I just have to say she along with some others who have moved on from vlogging immediately made me feel completely welcome.
Well since it was my birthday my husband suggested that we go to the outlets again so I could pick something out.

Any of you that have gotten to goal know getting to shop for your new size is a very exciting time!

So I went back to the same store for more jeans and low and behold I had gone down two full sizes since May – Now that was a “Wow” moment , I even went down one more size after that.

Through the rest of 2010 and  2011 I hovered for the greater amount of the time at approx 125. I say “hovered”  because if I wasn’t 125 I was either 123 or 127.
So to sum it up on my HCG Journey that will equate to approx.55lbs.

Before I knew about HCG I was over 200 lbs and had done a long fast so I lost some weight prior but it was creeping back up!

That was when my brother recommended that I should check out the HCG diet on You Tube.
He was concerned that I would keep trying to fast. So he said “On this other “thing” at least you will be eating healthy food, not a lot but it’s better than nothing at all.” Funny thing is he doesn’t even remember telling me that but I am so thankful he did!

Because of the prior fasting when someone is talking to me I sometimes mess up and when they ask me how much I have lost.

I forget to separate my HCG loss from what I also lost from fasting. When I do these posts I try to be sure and look back on journals to make sure I am remembering my numbers correctly.
But I must say it is pretty darn cool that I have been living in the world of “Slender” since 2010. I have never had a track record like this with anything else!

Two Great Fat Releasing Supplements!

HCG – Load Days

Do I HAVE to LOAD to do the HCG Protocol?

load days 175X175

Lets Talk about the Art of Loading!

When I was first learning about Dr. Simeons protocol one of the steps that sounded pretty cool was the “load days”. I think anyone that is first starting can’t help but think this should be fun.

Well it is not as fun as you would think, but this is why you do it.

Dr Simeons explained in Pounds & Inches that basically you need to stock up your normal fat reserve.

It makes sense that if you will be going on a low calorie diet and you are told you should “stock up” on some fattening food. You might as well pick the foods that you might miss while you are on the protocol round. But besides that you want to make sure you add in fats that help your body want to release fat more easily.

Of course if you are going to load or as some others refer the two days as “gorge days”.

You are going to see the scale numbers go up instead of down. This can be a little disconcerting to someone starting. But as soon as you are into your first week and you see that not only the load weight came right off put you are also releasing very nicely the concern of the initial quick gain is gone as quick as it came. – YAY

Now here is a little twist on the choice I made during my rounds. I was OK loading for the very first time and all went well. But when I unfortunately let my emotions get in the way of my logical mind I became Load-phobic. I didn’t want to have to deal with the increase numbers on the scale, though I knew they would be short lived. I also really disliked feeling too full. I can’t stand being that uncomfortable.

I figured I would rather go through a couple of “hunger days” instead of loading.

But then I got educated beyond what Dr. Simeon explained. Even though the Dr. explained well sometimes you have to hear that one other person saying it a little differently.Because I already experienced first hand how the fat fast , for exampleI was taught that you can even load “clean” if that will help get past the phobia and help a person load instead of opting out.

(Check Out the Mac Nut Fat Fast I Love Doing for Faster Fat Releases)

As far as loading….Don’t get me wrong, I still think if you are going to load if there are any foods you would like to get out of your system (cravings etc.) This is the time to do it!

HCG Side Effects ?

Is HCG a Risk or Danger?

hcg side effect 150X150

First the two Main Questions I am continually asked about :

Question;

Is hair loss a side effect?

I experienced the opposite with HCG in regards to hair loss. Before I knew about HCG I did a long fast and the hair loss I began to experience got really scary. When I got on HCG the hair loss stopped. I figured it would be similar to when I was pregnant and I might need to be prepared for some loss once I was done with HCG.

I’m very happy to report that didn’t happen.

One more thing about the hair, someone in the past commented to me that she thought the loss may also depend on if menopause is also part of the mix. I’m not at that point in my life so I have no idea. But I have a friend that has never done HCG and part of her pre-menopausal symptoms was hair loss until she got on hormone therapy.

If I was limited to what supplements I could recommend and could only select three here  and why. I prefer the Vitacost Hair,Skin & Nails Formula .

This vitamin slowed the loss I was having prior to starting HCG and then once I was on HCG any hair in the brush was minuscule. And I like to add extra Biotin , so that counts as my first two.

I look at that as my multivitamin selection.

What About Loose Skin?

I encourage anyone who is starting HCG to also take MSM
(preferably the MSM liquid form) this counts as my third supplement.

I wish I had taken it from day one. Because we release the fat rapidly on this protocol the MSM helps our skin tighten.

Besides the questions I have gotten I looked online to see what the websites that are “CON” HCG were listing as risks.

Quite frankly many sites were just plain silly, or had not done their due diligence to understand the original research.

Even well known sites that also have T.V. shows were filled with a bunch of bunk.

I’m sure they don’t want to get on their sponsors bad side and have advertising money they receive to go ‘bye-bye”

I would look at the “Risk List” and as I read each item said to myself, “I NEVER experienced that, or that one or that one, oh that one? That actually got better once I was on HCG “

“Complicating Disorders (from page 26 of my copy of the manuscript)”

Dr Simeon’s addresses the disorders that might complicate his HCG treatment in pound & inches

NOT because using HCG will cause the problem, on the contrary

Most of these disorders (not all) stem from obesity or unhealthy lifestyle.

Yet while doing his research found that the patients on the HCG protocol were not negatively effected even though they had the disorders listed below;

Diabetes, Rheumatism, Cholesterol, Blood Pressure, Peptic Ulcers, Psoriasis, Brittle finger nails, Hair loss, Varicose Ulcers, and Gout.

As you read the manuscript you will see that the treatment improved the patients situation with the disorder while the patient was going through the protocol.

Dr Simeon is SO DETAILED about each of the above disorders and explains why there is improvement or no adverse reaction  etc. once on the HCG treatment. People predisposed to Gout was the one situation I read in Pounds & Inches
that something might be uncomfortable before it can get better. Dr Simeons explains it a lot better than I can.

When I read that section it reminded me of how when someone does a detox they might have some discomfort while the body is cleansing itself of the toxins.

Food Choices if Gout is a concern;

Some of the foods like asparagus for example that are on the protocol food list is a food that can alter the body’s blood uric acid level .So if you are prone to gout being an issue you should check over the food list and make your selections accordingly.

The Hormone Debate;

“HCG is Not a Sex Hormone

It cannot he sufficiently emphasized that HCG is not sex-hormone, that its action is

identical in men, women, children and in those cases in which the sex-glands no longer

function owing to old age or their surgical removal. The only sexual change it can bring

about after puberty is an improvement of a pre-existing deficiency. But never stimulation beyond the normal.. In an indirect way via the anterior pituitary, HCG regulates menstruation and facilitates conception, but it never virilizes a woman or feminizes a man. It neither makes men grow breasts nor does it interfere with their virility, though where this was deficient it may improve it. It never makes women grow a beard or develop a gruff voice. I have stressed this point only for the sake of my lay readers, because, it is our daily experience that when patients hear the word hormone they

immediately  jump to the conclusion that this must have something to do with the sexsphere.

They are not accustomed as we are, to think thyroid, insulin, cortisone, adrenalin

etc, as hormones.”

One last thing I want to mention is the types of so called HCG that are out there.

Since so many new “types” have sprung up recently my concern is the same as Dr Simeon had in Pounds and Inches. If you are doing the 500 VLCD and not taking HCG (the real deal) you will be starving yourself. I’m sure if you starve yourself there will be hair loss, weakness, abdominal distress, muscle loss etc.

Not having hunger isn’t the only thing real HCG is doing. Burning the abnormal fat for energy is what makes the protocol so wonderful and NOT a starvation diet.

HCG Pounds and Inches

HCG – Pounds & Inches Equals SUCCESS!!

pound inches book

A Must Read

 “Knowledge is Power”

                                              -Sir Francis Bacon

A lot of people are gearing up to get started and I can not emphasize enough how important it is to read the original manuscript pounds & Inches before you start your HCG Journey.Even if you decided to go to a clinic and assume the Dr. at the clinic is all you need –Au Contraire!

Before I ever took my first dose I had watched numerous you tube videos to find out what other HCGers were experiencing and read many forums etc.

BUT –THE MOST important was reading and re- reading the Pounds & Inches
manuscript.

Understanding Dr Simeons’ research is vital to your success. Because it is so different than just a diet plan, knowing why it is different is a vital component.

Question:

I’m thinking of getting started with HCG diet and to reclaim my life. For the past couple of days, I have been trying to read up as much as possible on HCG. I have seen quite a few vlogs on YouTube. I have also gone through your blog and must say that you are an inspiration to many. Could you please help me with few basic ques – I was wondering how many rounds would be required for losing about 70 pounds? Also, how do I space out these multiple rounds? I am 30 yrs and desperate to lose weight. I have tried everything short of bariatric and have done many other things in an attempt to get rid of my extra pounds. But every time I have been disappointed. I want to give HCG an honest attempt. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Answer:

Have you read Pounds & Inches?
I have a link to a free pdf copy on my blog. That is an absolute must before starting the protocol. Reading the manuscript will answer your questions about time between rounds, what kind of fat the protocol targets, and why it works so well. Once you get a foundation of the research and do your first round you will believe that success can be yours. Then after your first round you can decide if you will stay “POP” (perfect on Protocol) or use a variation. I did interruptions or what is also known as cycling. I chose this route because I am terrible about being patient with myself. So don’t focus on that when you haven’t even dipped your toe in the water with your first round yet.

I feel that doing your first round following the original plan is the only way to go if you truly want to succeed at this. I also want to add that I highly respect the HCGers that kept with the original proper phase 3 breaks.

To plan for rounds – I always ordered 3 vials at a time to save on shipping cost when I purchased HCG. I always did 40 day rounds and since I don’t know if you want to do long or short rounds it is hard for me to say how many. But based on what you told me you have a lot going in your favor and I am excited for you! I thought I knew how much I wanted to lose and ended up losing far beyond my original goal and got where I never thought I could.

HCG – What is the Correct HCG Dose for Weight Loss?

HCG – What is the Right DOSE ?

hcg syringe ready for injection

HCG Dose Example

HCG –  Question of the Day

This is a really great question and there are different  dose calculator.

Charts and Lists aside I have found it is all about

Finding the HCG dose “Sweet Spot”

QUESTION:

I’m currently going to a “clinic” and with your help – plan on ordering HCG from ReliableRXPharmacy and supplies from Amazon and doing this myself. Although I’m having success at the “clinic” (lost 10 lbs. the first week) – they really do push the appetite suppressants and other unnecessary products. I’ll have to continue to go until I get my HCG delivery – but with your guidance – I know that I can do this on my own and save ALOT of money.

My question is – do you change your dose based on your weight or how your hunger is? What dose did you start with and did you continue the same dosage throughout all of your phases? Also – did you inject 6 days and skip one as outlined in the original protocol? I’m currently on 125 – five days a week – skip two – and feel kind of hungry.

ANSWER:
Congrats on such great results, you are doing awesome!

If you are just one week into it sometimes it takes at least that for the hcg to get at a good level. I remember my first week. I was concerned that I was going to be the one oddball that hcg wouldn’t work the same on as the people I was watching on youtube. Then it was Friday late afternoon and I suddenly realized that I wasn’t hungry and I had forgot to eat the P2 food I brought for lunch. I thought, “Oh this is what they are talking about”?
I did dose at about the same. I would fill to just past the “20 and not get to the “25″. How is that for being scientific-LOL

One funny thing about the HCG dose.

Once you find your “sweet spot” you can tell because hunger isn’t an issue. But here is the tricky part. Till you find the “sweet spot” if you don’t dose enough that could cause hunger but if you dose too much that could cause hunger. So if you at anytime decide to adjust do it ever so slightly till “bing” you find the spot! My dose amount stayed consistent pretty much, only backed off near the end but ever so slightly. During my rounds I would only skip a dose one day and of course when TOM arrived.

Losing Fat on HCG

What To Expect to Lose On HCG

A jug fills drop by drop-Buddha

Be Brimming with PATIENCE

A jug fills drop by drop.
-Buddha

With HCG lets turn that around and say,

“The jug empty’s with each pour (wink)”

Any of you seasoned vet dieters out there remember back if you ever did the Weight Watcher program?
You would go in for your weekly weigh in and meeting and you felt you were losing at a clipping rate if you were seeing an approx 2 lbs loss each week. By all traditional standards you were losing fast!

Now fast forward to  HCG Protocol. Before you started you saw or heard how people lose a pound a day plus. Of course like me you said “count me in!” The first week it can be very feasible that you could release to the point where you have lost even more than 7 lbs the 1st week.

Enter PATIENCE:
Whether on a forum, facebook or You Tube during my journey and up to now I see HCGers who are releasing but are sad that the release wasn’t more to their liking.
I am the first to admit that I can be patient with people but not with myself. Thus why I selected to do cycling/interruptions during my HCG journey.
I am writing this post because I want you to be kind to yourself and appreciate every success you have during your journey. When a comment goes in the direction of, “I only released or I only lost”. The fact is you got rid of fat and that is why you are doing this!

The Dr Simeon’s Research:
Also Dr Simeon titled his protocol “pounds & Inches” not simply “pounds”. You will be also losing inches shrinking and as long as you are really on HCG your body won’t be going after good muscle that your body needs to keep. I bought the book that the other guy wrote about Dr Simeons research. I am not a fan of the entrepreneur that wrote the book but I don’t hate him either. Anyway, one of the examples was the pregnant women in 3rd world countries that give birth to health babies even though their calorie intake is low and their activity level is basically hard labor during their trimesters. This is how Dr Simeon realized that if you have HCG in your system is like a heat seeking missile (that is my example not the Dr’s) going after the stored fat so it can keep the baby (in your case your body) sustained.
If you fudge on protocol you will probably experience that you will see a gain. My example here is that HCG is also like a magnet so if you put fat into your system while on HCG the HCG figures it better store it so you will stay sustained.

Set Points:
There will still be “set points” both ones you will be creating during your journey so your body won’t want to going the weight back easily. And others that you will need patience with when pushing through them. These set points are when your body gets to a weight that you had settled into in the past for a period of time. Your body gets to that weight and says to itself, “I remember this” and thinks it is where it should stay. You need to be the boss and say, “nope let’s keep going!”

My final 2 cents Today – I write on this blog because I want someone out there going through their journey to find a place that can help them along the way.
I am not a company or medical person. I am simply a person that knows I am blessed to have found HCG.

My goal is to share my thoughts, experiences, and whatever info I have learned.

Is Sugar Toxic to Your Body?

HCG Craving Buster of the Day

This blog post isn’t about a supplement though one L-Glutamine capsule poured under the tongue can help with sugar craving

The video link below provides information that helps you and me both to think before we act on a craving. Thus one day closer to the goal we have set for ourselves because we decide to make the right food choices that keep our body and mind healthy!

Video shows how sugar not only causes heart disease and diabetes, but also feeds tumors and is as addictive as Cocaine to your brain

Is Sugar Toxic to Your Body

 Mike’s comments:

I think everybody needs to watch this video from a recent 60 Minutes episode to see just how harmful to your health sugar really is.  I don’t think most people understand the seriousness of this.  People seem to blindly eat and drink loads of sugar each day (Americans consume a whopping 1/3 lb of sugar per DAY on average) without thinking about how this internally affects your body and your biochemistry.

As you can see in the video, it should be no surprise to anybody that studies clearly relate excess sugar consumption to obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and cancer.

You might argue that some natural sugars have always been in the human diet, so why is this an issue.  Well, yes humans have always eaten small amounts of natural sugars from fruit as part of the ancestral diet, but we’ve never historically been exposed to the massive amounts of added sugars that we see in today’s world of sweetened drinks, candies, cakes, cookies, as well as added sugars in everything from condiments to dressings to tomato sauces.

As you can see in the video, the average American eats a sickening 130 lbs of sugar per person per year, or 1/3 lb per day!  That’s just nasty if you ask me, and shows how little most people respect their body, or even think about what they’re putting in their body on a daily basis.

The video also mentions that in one controlled study, they replaced 25% of the daily calories of the subjects with sugary drinks, and took continual blood tests.  The tests showed that by replacing 25% of their daily calories with sugary drinks, the subjects increased their dangerous small dense LDL particles in their blood which causes arterial plaque and heart disease.  Yes, in fact, sugar and carbs in general contribute more to heart disease than fats do.

We also need to realize that high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is a relatively new invention in the human diet and is something that your body does not know how to properly handle.  HFCS didn’t really become part of the human food supply until the 1970’s and now it’s found it fairly large quantities in almost every processed food on the grocery shelves.  As the video points out, HFCS consumption is clearly linked to increased heart disease and stroke risk.

One statement I don’t agree with in the video above is that sugar and HFCS are “the same”.  While I agree that they are both terrible for your health and both toxic, there are certainly big differences in how the body processes HFCS vs table sugar or other forms of sugar.  I cover this in full in this article about HFCS here (opens a new window).

Also take note that the video mentions how sugar feeds tumors and can make cancer worse.

In addition, sugar activates reward centers in your brain, similar to drugs like cocaine, thereby making sugar addictive.  The part of the video where they do brain scans on him while he sips a sugary soda is interesting indeed.

One other thing to mention about this video… I don’t fully agree with how they lump honey and real maple syrup in with table sugar or HFCS.  Although honey and real maple syrup are mostly sugar, and should be minimized overall, both of them at least have additional micronutrients and antioxidants that sugar or HFCS simply don’t have.

In addition, another aspect that the video fails to mention is that it’s not just added sugar that causes all of these negative effects in your body, but also fast-digesting carb sources like breads, pastas, bagels, muffins, rice, and other grain-based foods that spike your blood sugar just as quickly as regular table sugar.  For example, each piece of bread you eat is basically equivalent to eating about 20 grams of sugar since the response to your blood sugar and triglyceride levels is essentially the same.

The bottom line is that food manufacturers want you to be addicted to sugar and continue to buy all of their junk foods and sugary drinks which destroy your health.  But it’s time to take control of your health for yourself and not support these giant businesses who only care about their corporate profit and not about how they are destroying your health.
